Bulls offseason Thread

Jimmy is nice man. It seemed the Bulls stalled a little bit on both sides for a little while when he came out (sprained thumb).

Jimmy doesn't seem like the type to demand big money. I see him as a team first guy so I don't expect him to play hardball come negotiation time.
You only can make this type of money once in your life. With the minutes Jimmy plays, hes going to age rough. I dont blame him for wanting to get as much as hes can. Just too early for him to take hometown discounts. Want him to stay for sure though.
EXACTLY!!!!

how does someone not seem like not the type to demand big money? its his 1st big contract he has every right to ask for his max from the bulls.

and whats jimmys cellings? he will be a elite defender in the NBA but not sure about on offense

Too early to say what Jimmy's ceiling is on offense

If you hold a gun to my head, I'd guess he might be a 20 ppg scorer

The number of ways he's been scoring is impressive. Spot up j's, jumpers off the dribble, post ups, drives, getting to the line. The thing that has surprised me the most is that he appears very comfortable with stopping on a dime off the dribble and hitting that 15-18 jumper

It really does seem he made shooting a priority in the offseason

Derrick WRECKED Kyrie tonight.  That punk Irving then padded his stats v.s. the second unit.  Rose had him, and the rest of the Cavs on skates.  Looked a explosive as ever, and was bombing the deep ball when they sagged.  Looked MVP-ish again which is a great sign.

Plus the Cavs played their starters longer than we did.  And we were missing our 2nd most important defensive piece, the Cowardly King stopper, Jimmy Buckets aka Jimmy Bags.  That Cavs team is stacked with talent though.  AV was locking up Paula Gasoft (who disappointed), and Dion Waters can create off the dribble consistently.

No wonder that Akron coward wanted to "come back home" ... had nothing to do with Cleveland.  That roster is better than Miami's broken down cast, and actually fit his talents better.

All signs point to this being a great year assuming health.  We still need one more shot creator IMO, and I would be willing to lose Gasoft or Taj for a piece that can also create off the dribble.  That Cavs team isn't just top heavy with talent like Miami, they have a solid roster all around.  Scary team when they gel.  But we will be too with all our pieces.

its too early for you to be drunk fam...cut it out...totaly agree witht he first paragraph tho

Thing that worried me the most just from preseason is the Taj on the second unit. Him playing the 5 isnt a good look, he and Mirotic had a hard time on the glass. Thats the thing that worries me the most. Dont like him at the 5 at all

I'm drunk because that's my opinion?

Gasol is better than Booz and a decent pick up but he's way past his prime. AV was stuffing his weak finishes constantly last night.

I still think we need another capable playmaker with the ball in their hands. Obviously we need that ... are you drunk? We don't have the fire power to square up against Cleveland in a best of seven.

It'll just be us relying too much on Derrick again constantly.

you took that a lil too literal fam

i dont think getting rid of taj or a guy we upgraded to is in the plans at all AV cooked but weve seen pau play d pretty good over the course of these preseason games to know he will be more than alright when the season hits...needin another creative scorer is needed but we are far from give it to derrick & watch mode this aint nowhere near the old watch derrick run squad...still hoping that green for snell rumor has legs because that would be the other creator off the pine we could use

Sooo I had to move stuff out of my sis pad cause she moving, and I literally have a stash of kicks at just about all my relatives crib, since my girl is always tripping about my kicks taking up space

Wanted to share this with my Bulls fam.

Either way I ran across my Bulls kicks that I picked up off eastbay about 6-7 years ago when they used to have real deals. Got these for about $17 :nthat:
They used to have every team on sale too!

We're just one fearless creator with the ball from beating the Cleveland Cowards. A guy like Jamal Crawford would do wonders for us ...

We can beat Cleveland with what we got. We aint getting a 2guard that can create his own shot. We've wanted one since MJ left.....

^
I had concerns with his attitude and selfishness, but if you go back and look I was all for bringing him in.

When we still had that cap flexibility and depending on how much Pau was gonna cost us I threw out the idea of a 4/44mill offer with the fourth year being a mutual option, meaning we could've cut ties after 3 if we didn't like what we saw.

Looking at it now Charlotte got a steal at 9 mill a year.
I still don't know why we didn't make a push for him :smh:

Knowing Gar/Pax they liken I play it too safe......but we all know you gotta take risks to get big rewards.

That's awfully optimistic, but um no we don't.  People were saying the same things about us against Miami.  We don't have the talent.

You don't see the Bulls for what they are yet?  You've got a coach who can't see the forrest through the trees.  Takes decent talent, plays them way too hard in January games like it's mid June.  Maxes out potential in the regular season, and has no other gears for playoff basketball.

The roster?

Butler is still a niche guy, a strong defender.  Noah is whatever offensively.  Gibson is a spark off the bench, that's all.  All we have is Rose, depending on health.  LMAO if you're pinning our potential to beat a 4 headed monster of 20+ ppg caliber  players in Irving, Waiters, LeBron and Love with old, past his prime Pau Gasol.  He's an upgrade from Boozer, but not significantly.  There is a reason dude has been irrelevant in the win column since Kobe started to decline in 2011.

We're still one more offensive piece from truly being championship material.  And it's not going to be something you can rely on via committee in the playoffs.  Regular season?  Sure.

I somewhat agree with you that having that second shot creator would be ideal but you can't use the Cavs' scoring ability to be the sole reason the Bulls can't beat them in a series. Defensively this Cavs team doesn't compare at all to the past Miami teams, which is a huge reason why they were able to shut Rose down by just sticking 'Bron on him in key moments. Sure, they'll score in bunches with those guys and with Blatt's system but only 'Bron and AV can guard a candle. Scoring is important but as the Spurs have shown having a competent defense wins in the playoffs.

I know majority of you all don't agree but we should've really pursued Lance :smh:

Completely agree with you Cake. I think dude is gonna flourish in Charlotte. Good defender, great ball handler, a very capable and willing passer and most importantly, a shot creator.

My sentiments exactly, although I think you're downplaying our frontcourt dramatically. Unless Jimmy takes that next step we're simply fodder for the Cavs. Hate to be right but we'll see.
