Bulls offseason Thread

Hinrich and Noah were both blessings and curses at different times down the stretch, but as a whole, y'all were getting it done and I hated seeing that the effort resulted in an L.

Y'all got robbed.

Cavs should be 0-2.

IMO it was a case of both being robbed and self-inflicted with plenty of bonehead mistakes IMO. At the end of the day it's only game 2 of a long season and I expect both of these teams to battle in the ECF. This is a roster built for the playoffs so I'm not going to worry about the regular season records as much especially since the East is pretty terrible outside of Bulls / Cavs / Wiz...maybe Toronto.

Since you're a Lakers fan I thought I'd mention a few things about Pau, who had an ok game. He had a few shots miss due to unlucky bounces and didn't / couldn't box out on a few rebounds but his rim protection has been absolutely phenomenal to me. I'm confident that as the season goes on his role in the rotation will be more defined and he'll develop more chemistry with the rest of the frontcourt.

Thibs is still figuring out the rotations and I expect Brooks / Snell to have a bigger role later in the season too. Would've liked to see a Brooks / Hinrich backcourt to finish it but oh well.

Noah had a lot of brain farts last night.

Am I the only one who was annoyed when be tried to lead a break, looking off Rose and ended up traveling?

I feel like whenever he does that ****, it only ends in something good about half the time.

If he wants to do something with the ball after securing the rebound, he should learn to outlet it

Outside of the Game 6 steal and dunk on Pierce, I always cringe when Jo tries to channel his inner Magic Johnson. Just pass it to a guard, Jo....

Boy did we ever blow that one. I was listening to most of the fourth quarter but couldn't believe the and one call to send it to OT. Also didn't know that TT was such a rebounder. I knew we weren't winning 82, but I just hate that first loss was on our home floor to division rival.

Bulls will regret not locking Jimmy up. Then we all will be pissed as he continues to develop.

Me neither until someone on the broadcast mentioned he was 3rd in offensive rebounding rate last year. Cavs woulda kicked themselves if they included him in the outgoing package with Wiggins / Bennett.

This better not turn out to be like Omer all over again.

Pau looks awesome. 6 blocks last night? I don't think he had 6 blocks in his 7 years w/ us.

srs

Pau has been pretty good with rim protection. Its his defensive rebounding and not boxing out thats the problem. He missed some bunnies last that usually fall, so im not too worried about that. But he cant get worked on the defensive glass like that

I agree with you and I think that can be corrected with time. He's not the quickest footspeed wise but he looks like an NFL combine shuttle-champ compared to Booz

No specifics have been given out, but I'm sure it was 12 or more. I personally blame JVG for spewing that non sense on opening night

Word has it that Bulls final offer was 10.5M, but again you never know with these rumors.

I hate to say it but unless we find a way to dump both Kirk and MDJ and drop a few more fillers this offseason then I don't think we have a chance at retaining Jimmy. But on a positive note we'll probably have enough to sign everyone's favorite missed target this off season in Aaron Affalo

If Bulls management isn't willing to go up to 14 (which I assume some dumb @ss team) is going to throw at Jimmy, then they better be smart and start looking for a trade partner.

Like I said before I got nothing against Jimmy, but I know Reinsdorf and he's not gonna break the bank for him, at the end of the day he's gotta look out for him and his peeps and get that bread while he still can. I'll also have to disagree with some of y'all who think he'll be better or is better than Deng....:smh:
Deng was real versatile and had a more polished offensive game than Jimmy at that point in his career. Not to mention he was literally our iron man for damn near 3 straight season.

I'm of the mind state that Thibs is the NBA equivalent of Belichick. Type of guy who's program is so sound that he can just plug and play different players into different roles and get similar results.

Before this season, SLP, I would've agreed with you (about Deng being more polished offensively)

But if Jimmy's preseason highlights are anything to go by, Jimmy is going to be better. He had the stop on a dime dribble pullup, the 3, getting to the line, the catch and shoot, the attacking the rim. The only thing I didn't see from Jimmy was the fadeaway, but there aren't many players in the NBA with reliable fades anyway

i guess im in the minority i love what i saw in the loss..... the cavs A team needed a OT for the bulls without arguably there second best player Jimmy and rose playing half a game.

As far as the Jo pushing the ball i love it this team has to keep playing like they did when rose was gone, the entire team has evolved and if were gonna be great it cant be the rose show 24/7 FACTS

Also wanna show Kirk some love we really dont praise that guy enough..... imo he goes far and beyond physical tools that guy is a true gamer
