Bulls offseason Thread

Our team is pretty damn deep. When we go with a big lineup...aint nobody gonna be able to match up.

Pau's contract is very fair, and very tradeable should that need arise. Its all about D. Rose now.

Yup, this team is even more versatile than the 2011 / 2012 team and allows for very flexible and potent lineups.

We can go big and small. I'd love to see this smallball / 3pt lineup:

Rose
Snell
Jimmy
Doug / Niko
Pau

Plug in Taj / Jo for off/def subs too.

im not a huge fan of the PAU signing. we have so much money invested in PF/C, and i think Taj is flat out better. sucks that he has to go back to the bench.

we need depth at the gaurd position, i really dont understand letting DJ walk in favor of kirk.

happy to see Snell and Doug Mc off to a nice start in summer league.

My biggest concern for this season (aside from rose health) is how Thibs will manage the minutes of all these new pieces. i just feel thats a glaring weakness of his.

start off by saying i knew carmel corn would take his cash so im not eve mad about it we still did wk

lets ******* GO!

dougie & tony went off in both SL games ...tony has to cut the TO's & he will be straight & dougie needs calm down a bit & also step in one or 2 steps & he wouldve made a few more trey balls

the barton(last name) pg & lazerus(first name) pg on the SL squad could both get signed & are both dj esque... could be the reason they let him go

Gasol will be nasty if hes the #6 taj gotta start eat first then Pau can eat off the other teams 2nd string big

euro cat comin over should be nice & stacks us up again ... i like it , i like it a lot

Derrick, curry, lillard, irving(aka hotsauce) fighting for the pg slot on the world cup roster.... still gonna be a battle even with wall & westbrook not in it .

great weekend, good fo moves for the squad, great future ahead with derrick being healthy or not

I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict Snell will eventually be our starting SG.

Also, does anyone know if we have a trade exception from the Lu trade? I remember something like a $2M exception so maybe we can get a 3rd guard like Aaron Brooks / Sessions / Jordan Crawford?

If you look at the ECF teams, Gasol should feast against opposing bigs especially if he's 6th man.

I think it's Bulls / Wizards / Pacers / Heat for the top spots.

i agree he will be the starting sg as soon as hes comfy & cuts the silly to's

brooks/sessions/jordan crawford id take any of em on the cheap

gasol is gonna eat all season & i know thibs n co will have him in a position to succeed

its def pacers/bulls/wiz/heat still think pacers will take top slot again unless they lose lance last min

If the Bulls can pickup one more guy, it'd be great.

If not, I suspect Hinrich, Snell, Jimmy to rotate at the 2.

Sucks that all these moves are nothing if Rose gets hurt again.

Praying he stays healthy.

I think we forget too quickly. Before Asik left and we lost cj and Brewer, we had a 9 man rotation. Thibs liked to bring in 4 men off the bench and use Luol with the second team. The only man who really played a lot was Luol.

With this new squad I wouldn't be surprised if he brings 4 guys off the bench again and use Jimmy with the second team.

i agree 100% if Butler can hit the jumper way better this year it would help alot. if not we still dont have a guy who can get an easy bucket besides Rose. I like Hinrich ima fan but whose gonna be our Nate Rob/ DJ this year?

this is true

i just feel its Tajs time. Hes an impact player, can get buckets super athletic and a great defender. Limiting his minutes doesnt seem ideal.

if i were to be optimistic, this squad can go deep into the playoffs. maybe win the east. hoping for good health!

It's possible Taj still starts and he truly is deserving. I always thought Pau would be better coming off the bench as an anchor. He and Taj would cook together too. Thibs will probably just have an open competition for the starting 4 spot anyways. We'll see how this goes.

Just so we clear by all accounts they informed Pau he would be starting if he signed, and there no shot in hell he starts over JO. So im sticking to my original point that Mirotic is the 3rd string PF.... in a perfect world yes Pau would come off the bench playing both 4 and 5 but too many reports say he was promised a starting role.

Agree with the guy that said at this point I truly believe its Taj time easily see him as second best scoring option on the team unless Jimmy all of sudden just puts it all together :smokin

bcdagr8 bcdagr8 - We really didn't strike out when it comes to Melo .. it was basically about 75-80 million vs 125 million, if we had the funds like the 97 million LA offered I really think we could have got him. Also the fact we didn't have the players to pull off a S & T held us back as well.

KC linked this article the day deng was signed

I agree, deng was a great chicago bull and its a damn shame how the organization treated him on his way out. especially after how they nearly killed the poor guy.

Deng's value took a dip after we traded him since he really didn't do much in Cleveland. Most GMs around the league realized he had NYC cab mileage on his legs as well.
