Bulls offseason Thread

^
As a father myself I won't comment on how any man should raise their kids, but I will say this.
There is a huge difference between low-mid income parenting than there is for multi millionaires. Could he easily work in Chicago and leave his family in NY if they choose so...of course. Does he want to have his kids always around him? I don't know. These are all personal decision that he has to make.

At this point I believe he was just selling wolf tickets when he talked about wanting to be on a winning team. He really don't want it. I wanna see if Phil will in fact offer him the max or if he would be willing to take less to stay on that bum Knicks squad.

As far as Houston goes...fûćk them too!
If we didn't have Dougie I'd say offer a poison pill contract to Parson just to give them a taste of their own medicine. I still haven't forgotten that bïtćh move they pulled with Brad Miller either.

I don't think we're getting Melo either. The biggest thing stopping him will be Rose's injury - it's going to be hard to swallow the bitter pill if Rose ends up getting injured again and Melo sacrificed money for nothing. Sure we'll still be good without Rose if that were to happen but we wouldn't be title contenders. I think he ends up staying after Dolan panics and offers him the max.

@SLP...I'm a father too. Though they drive me crazy sometimes, I couldn't see myself being away from them for as long as a season is. I don't think anyone is suggesting that. Truly, our schools are every bit as good as the 20 and 30k a year schools his son is going to now. BUT as a father and the breadwinner of my household, if I have a chance to establish myself among the best in my field, I'm not going to walk away from it because I THINK my kids would have to make new friends. BOO HOO. That's why I feel he is using the lil boy as an excuse.

If anything, I think it's because his wife has a small role on the show Power (which got picked up for a second season BTW). SHEEEIIITTT, she has only been in two of four episodes. She could fly in and out for that. I was joking with City that we need to be pitching her a show over at Harpo to get her to like the Chi more. BUT a 7yo really should not be the deciding factor in a decision of this magnitude. Either way their family will be wealthy enough for that child's children to never have to work.

In the end, its not my call. I'm just a fan that thinks he is the final piece to my team's championship puzzle. I'm also old school in my thinking about how a household should work.

I don't think hes thinking of the Drose.factor as much as alot of big time.cash being sacrificed plus moving his family to somewhere I doubt he wants to be..if we had this squad in La I think there would be nothing to talk about he'd be here asap..

We adviously wouldn't be favorites if rose went down but if Dj stuck.around with our d plus melo n some help from surrounding players carrying us offensively I think we would be able to contend..we just would be underdogs as usual

Depends where he puts his priorities. If he truly is about winning, he'd take less money to play elsewhere. But I got the feeling if NYK offered him the max, he'd have a hard time turning that down. I agree - if Rose we're healthy Melo coming here would be a no brainer, but he hasn't been healthy.

The Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks have primary interest in signing Anthony as a free agent, but also could chase Parsons if they don't, a source said.

Noah declined comment but had a big smile on his face as he posed for pictures with fans. Bulls' personnel know how big this day is.

Let's stay positive my brethren :nthat:

Really wish Pooh would get off his soap box and join Noah at the UC to greet Melo :rolleyes

A scorer doesn't necessarily mean Carmelo.

If Melo comes that's cool, he'll be a great addition. But those with immense amount of hope are gonna be hurt if he decides to stay in NY.

Just seems like an immense ego stroke for him.

What's plan B?

I think we have a.plan b and c just not being revealed to let melo know were all in...

Nobody's betting he's coming over...
Now it's just positive thoughts..

Most knows it's a big maybe

hmmm the mindset in here has dramatically changed, or maybe yall were in denial then. Yall finally see Melo is not coming, he is not all about winning we all knew that, he gonna take that max extension and keep the women he sleeps with happy lol.

On another note all the grief we give the FO compared to 2010 the Fo and the bulls in general are going all in to attempt signing a big free agent, they definitely learn from there mistakes. Gotta give credit when its due

Well then they did all that could be done both Pooh and FO.
Ain't even mad......let the chips fall where they may.

I got a good a feeling about this.

Now we wait...

Read some tweets that Thibs was in the van with Melo all the way to the UC. I was hoping they'd all walk over to the new practice facility site and take some pictures with hardhats and shovels

Edit:

Ok, so they did give him the tour of where the new facility would be.

The Melo banners and decor are a nice touch. Classy, not too corny. And i knew Derrick would be there. Word is he partaked for about an hour.

Now....the wait.
