Obviously if you've been following, we could've had Affalo AND Melo .. maybe you really should stay sleep until the summer is over.

No it doesn't. Why didn't any other team pull off that trade then? If we didn't pull the trigger for Afflalo, that obviously means the FO is confident in their ability to nab Melo...NEWSFLASH, Afflalo is an expiring player making 7 million. We would not have the cap space to bring Melo over and if we made the move for Afflalo you people would still complain "Oh he's great but we're not getting Melo/Love so what's the point in this offseason" and that is the damn truth.

I cited Rose as an example of how people discredit EVERYTHING our FO does...we got lucky and won the lottery but somehow there's no credit given to the FO when they made the right choice of Rose over Beasley. They got Rose, Noah, and Thibs and that alone has made the team competitive the past 3/4 years EVEN with Rose suffering his injuries. Thibs and Noah are easily some of the most coveted assets in the league who many teams would love to acquire and yet all I hear is *****ing and moaning.

First scenario presented our way:

Possible 3 team trade between Bulls, Knicks, and Magic:

Bulls receive: Carmelo Anthony in sign-and-trade and Arron Afflalo

Magic receive: Carlos Boozer, Jimmy Butler, Bulls' 2015 1st round pick, and the Kings' protected pick

Knicks receive: Jameer Nelson, Tony Snell, Mike Dunleavy, Nikola Mirotic, non-guaranteed deals of Ronnie Brewer and Mike James.

Now my question to you is do you really think we're going to be able to just outright sign Melo? I sure as hell don't so the only shot we have is a sign and trade.

Second scenario presented our way:

Bulls receive: Arron Affalo

Orlando receive: Tony Snell and a future 1st rd pick

Our FO declined that offer according to reports.

What makes you think we're giving up Taj? It's been said multiple times that we want Melo without having to give up Taj. Giving up Taj and throwing Mirotic into the fire isn't the direction we really want to go in.

I went from very positive. ...to super negative......i expect nothing to happen now....Boozer wont be amnestied....no Melo no love no Afflalo...no nobody....Derrick and Miritoc and a couple of rookies.....sigh
 
Boozer is good as gone, no matter what happens. When he decided to speak out about his 4th quarter playing time that pretty much sealed the deal, can't see us bringing him back.

I agree though, Rose and the foreigner plus our 2 picks :frown:

That is predicated solely on the belief Melo would go to that team...he is still undecided at this point. That's why moving him in a deal like this is unlikely right now, especially before the draft AND FA. Adding more picks (talking mostly about tonight's draft) is tricky because you would have to pick players that the Knicks would like.

If Melo is unwilling to accept the amount the Bulls are offering with Taj on the roster, I can definitely see them dumping Taj to sign Melo outright. But that's dependent on how much Melo is willing to take, and if the reports are true he would take less to play for a contender, then that's obviously a moot point.

Minny reported waiting till after melo lands to make any K.love decisions so why is that out now???

I never got my hopes up, too much heartbreak..just staying optimistic cause you guys know last minute EVERYTHING can change in FA..

sadly, i watched some state games, not just the tourney...he cant run for >2m

from draftx

Bhullar was only an average defensive rebounder despite his size, posting 7.5 rebounds per 40 minutes pace adjusted. This is because he is only able to rebound balls directly in his area and is not quick or vertical enough to fight for loose balls that bounce away from him. While he will continue to be able to be the first to get to rebounds that drop near him, his inability to track down rebounds outside his area will likely prevent him from becoming an elite rebounder until he improves his conditioning level.

i dont get the Afflalo trade at all,....clearly the bulls don't want to trade for him now as he is in the bulls eyes the boozer of the 2014 free agency/trade market....A. Bron, B. Melo. C. Love D. Affalo .....the magic are crazy for doing the trade so soon. why not wait until you see what happens with the bulls, you might have been able to get Snell and whoever the bulls drafted at 19 tonight. bad job by the GM
