It's a good feeling to not really know what's going on. For the last year I've been glued to the news. Following everything. It really drained me in every sense of the word.

Honestly, I don't even really want to know the details of this situation at this point. I was under the impression that Kelly was an adult, but he just became another one of Trump's get out of jail free cards. I'll never understand why people stick their neck out for this dude.

White Supremacy is a helluva drug.

i wake up at night sometimes and wonder what kind of world my son is going to grow up to live in. it's been pretty depressing. almost wish morpheus were here to give me the blue pill.

Kelly lying about a public event and thinking no one would bother look for video is equivalent to some make up nonsense fact like say, David Duke was a Dem Senator, and not thinking someone would Google at, or has a memory, or reads.

I am not sure what is more alarming. The brazen lies or the idiotic assumption people won't fact check.

They don't give af. They're talking to a select few who will eat up absolutely anything they say. The backlash is just noise to them

Just out of curiosity, what is your opinion on this?

Kind of makes me not want

To quote NT’s favorite method actor aepps20 aepps20 , it is a bunch of conjecture an innuendo.

First off the me address the Bernie and King thing at the end regarding them running as Democrats. That has already been most shot down by other members of the Democratic Party. Most people in the establishment don’t care, hell the Democratic “establishment” tons of time, energy and money getting both Bernie and King elected as independents. Hell, the resolution itself was rejected.

Second, I would recommend you just stop watching the Young Turk, it is left wing Breitbart. Cenk is sensationalizing a couple points to push a narrative. Yes, some Bernie supporters didn’t keep their previous positions, but, other new people got positions as well. And I find it hypocritical that a dude like Cenk that claims to be so against establishment, who wants a up and down purge of the DNC, is now mad that dudes that held their positions for over a decade got replaced.

The issue about the budget is not anything tremendously nefarious, it is battle of two idea that existed before Bernie ran. The DNC fund raises and the question is if the money should be centralized and spent on consultants, or spread out to the state level parties. That is what it really is. Now this is a serious debate about infrastructure spending, yet, clowns like Cenk have weaponized the issue to argue tis proves corruption in the DNC, i.e. they screwed Bernie. Because every ****ing thing the Young Turks does trying to push the BS narrative that the DNC just schemes to have the views of Bernie and his supporters suppressed.

They however flip their **** whenever a state and local level democrat suggest running centrist. I guess they only care they get money if they act exactly how the “Bernie Left” does. They only hate the fall in line stuff when they think it is directed at them.

His diversity talking point is garbage as well. He echoes the old Sanders talking point on identity politics, yet he didn’t even take the damn time to learn the politics of the people he claimed Perez was hiding behind. Cenk, not the Dems, is the one dismissing these new appointees, and their potential opinions, solely based on their identity. And in case he has not taken his head out his *** for the past couple months, there has been a harsh backlash from minorities in the Democratic party over the whole “identify politics” nonsense leftist where trying to pedal months ago.

The Clinton thing is a dog whistle. If anything, Perez is Obama’s guy not Hillary’s. High profile people in Democratic party have worked for the Clinton’s, yeah so what, that alone proves nothing.

Perez appointed a new set of people, some that supported Bernie, some Clinton, and many new people. Many other Bernie supporters aren’t even sweating this at all. But clowns like Cenk, whose business depends on being a left-wing reactionary, will always eat it up. Funny, his company is also funded by Republican VC money, but he assures his audience he opinions can never be tainted.

And to you famb, you need to not get upset over **** like this. If you want the Democratic Party to change, then it will be a gradual process, a process you must stick around for. Standing on the sidelines, and giving up on them whenever you perceive them to do something you don’t like gets you nowhere. Matter of fact, a good argument could be made that a strategy like this is kinda silly. Being fickle and apathetic gets us nowhere right now

Yes we should demand better from the Democratic party but let us remember that if you are a progressive or leftist, or a liberal hungry for any kind of justice the Tim Perez's and Hillary Clinton's of the world are not your enemy, they are your natural allies. Allies you have disagreements with.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Police in Gainesville have arrested three Texas men accused of shouting "Heil Hitler" and other chants before firing a shot at two people shortly after white nationalist Richard Spencer spoke at the University of Florida Thursday, reports CBS affiliate WGFL.

Gainesville Police charged 28-year-old Tyler Tenbrink and brothers Colton and William Fears with attempted homicide.

Tenbrink, who police say admitted to firing the shot, is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

DONALD J. TRUMP

THE WHITE HOUSE,

October 20, 2017.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...ed-pilots-address-serious-shortage/785344001/

WASHINGTON — President Trump signed an executive order Friday allowing the Air Force to recall as many as 1,000 retired pilots to active duty to address a shortage in combat fliers, the White House and Pentagon announced.

By law, only 25 retired officers can be brought back to serve in any one branch. Trump's order removes those caps by expanding a state of national emergency declared by President George W. Bush after 9/11, signaling what could be a significant escalation in the 16-year-old global war on terror.

"We anticipate that the Secretary of Defense will delegate the authority to the Secretary of the Air Force to recall up to 1,000 retired pilots for up to three years," Navy Cdr. Gary Ross, a Pentagon spokesman, said in a statement.

But the executive order itself is not specific to the Air Force, and could conceivably be used in the future to call up more officers and in other branches.

The Air Force needs about 1,500 pilots more than it has. Bonus programs and other incentives have not made up the shortfall.

The Air Force has been at the forefront of the Pentagon's battle against the Islamic State, flying most of the combat sorties in Iraq and Syria since 2014.

In June, Sen. John McCain, D-Ariz., labeled the pilot shortage a crisis that would prevent the Air Force from fulfilling its mission.

“This is a full-blown crisis, and if left unresolved, it will call into question the Air Force’s ability to accomplish its mission,” said McCain, chairman of the Armed Services Committee.

Richard Aboulafia, an aviation analyst and vice president of the Teal Group, said the shortage stemmed from a number of issues.

"One is competition from commercial airlines," Aboulafia said. "Another is delays and funding shortfalls in training. And, due to military operations, utilization of the aircraft and crew has been higher than expected."

More: A permanent emergency: Trump becomes third president to renew extraordinary post-9/11 powers

On Capitol Hill, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and a member of Armed Services Committee, said that the fight against Islamic State and al-Qaeda linked terrorists will be expanding. He spoke to reporters while speaking about the four U.S. soldiers killed Oct. 4 in Niger.

Counter-terrorism rules under President Obama had been too restrictive and ineffective, Graham said.

“The war is morphing," Graham said. "You’re going to see more actions in Africa, not less. You’re going to see more aggression by the United States toward our enemies, not less. You’re going to have decisions made not in the White House but out in the field. And I support that entire construct.”

Last month, President Trump became the third president to renew the post-9/11 state of national emergency, which allows the president to call up the national guard, hire and fire officers and delay retirements.

Those extraordinary powers were supposed to be temporary. But even after 16 years, there's been no congressional oversight of the emergency.

Can't have retired military personnel criticize you if said military personnel aren't retired.

Ya'll boys ready to go back?
Best part is that all the military spending will be deemed emergency spending and not be counted towards the deficit. Not like deficits matter now a Republican is in office

And when reasonable Democratic takes back the White House and puts the spending back on the books, the GOP can cry bloody murder.

And the buffoons that don't know a lick of economics and fiscal policy will eat it up.

Is there any good news coming out of Washington? I mean besides da orange Mussolini daily reminder of his stupidity, which is very funny. I haven't been in the loop much.

Uh,guys...

Officially seriously worried that the nut job is about to get 'his' war on...

I am hoping that this is a "precaution" in the event of a first strike from North Korea, though I believe the latter would be unlikely.
But in light of Trump's character, his statements and actions, it gives me great cause for concern. Concern for war that is. For what it's worth, I sincerely hope y'all don't get stuck in some war caused by the Dotard administration.
