***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Need liberal sleeper cells in the republican party.

Run as a right wing nut and then when elected go hard left.

Trolling with a purpose. :pimp:

Didn't agree with all of the dudes policy positions but I dont know how well an unabashed Lib would've done in a traditionally hard red district...

Just wish all this effort Dems put in these kinds of close races actually paid off now and then. Feels like they're usually tight but never end up getting flipped all the way blue :smh:

These are hard red districts, we are seeing huge blue swings, just not enough to win. The real prize is all the swing districts next year

Republicans vote with cult like reliability. Pelosi could switch parties tomorrow and they would adore her.
400

Well, according to a new ABC/Washington Post survey, support levels for an Obama strike in 2013 and Trump’s strike last week were indeed relatively even among Democrats:

37 percent of Democrats back Trump’s missile strikes. In 2013, 38 percent of Democrats supported Obama’s plan. That is well within the margin of error.
How about Republicans? Well, that’s a wildly different picture:

In 2013, when Barack Obama was president, a Washington Post–ABC News poll found that only 22 percent of Republicans supported the U.S. launching missile strikes against Syria in response to Bashar al-Assad using chemical weapons against civilians.
A new Post-ABC poll finds that 86 percent of Republicans support Donald Trump’s decision to launch strikes on Syria for the same reason. Only 11 percent are opposed.

He ain't wrong.

Democrats need a victory badly.  They're starting to look like lovable losers right now and there's only so many moral victories.  Can't bank on the 'Trump getting impeached' thing.

At this point they better start hoping the Republicans get lulled into a false sense of security like Dems did in the last election.

The momentum/trends seem encouraging but it feels like we're always left with a case of blue balls at the end

Shows these GOP dudes aren't invulnerable even with total control of the government, just need the base to internalize that belief nationwide

Democrats should never bank on the impeachment threat
Instead, there should be a focus on healthcare
If this AHCA thing actually gets approved and yet quality of healthcare worsens within a year, there will be a storm of talking points that will pop off for the Dems by the midterms

Its sad their ridiculous attack ads work and that charges up their base, nothing about policy just telling you the other side of evil I dont understand how they dont see that as insulting to their intelligence. They will vote for anyone with that R next to their name no matter what.
It's all fearmongering.

Sad! Institutions have done too good of a job protecting us from the manbaby.

So he lost because our government stopped Trump from doing a ****** job?

I'm trying to understand you guy's logic on this one.
Kind of, but if the healthcare "reform" gets through senate and messes over many Republicans that rely on such healthcare, prepare for a bloodbath.
