No. They used planes to kill thousands on 9/11 and ever since we've increased security, expanded who can be on the no fly list and have banned all types of thing from being part of your carry on luggage.

Just imagine if that certain brain dead group were lobbying against increased safety on planes, who should be allowed to get on them, and limiting what can be brought in planes and the no fly list. Something worse than 9/11 would just occur.

It is remarkable that even terrorists know they don't have a weapon smuggling problem when they want to kill en masse in America cuz the guns are abundant. That one side of the political spectrum are so daft is just painstakingly pathetic.

When a mass shooting happens, I am amazed how conservatives show themselves to be incapable of having nuanced discussions of the trade off between freedom and safety.

If the shooter is named Dylan or Ethan or Kaiden, we will be told that not one inch can be given on gun rights because freedom always takes priority over security.

If the shooter is named Omar or Muhammed, expect the same folks to say that all that maters is safety and we must abandon all civil liberties (or at least the civil liberties of people who do not look like conservative constituencies).

They want their guns, that great, ersatz, metal penis and talismen which will restore the honor lost to neoliberalism's advance. They also want to lord their accident of birth over non whites, non Christians and non citizens. They cannot confess to such base, puerile and parochial desires so they must cloak it all in some sort of feigned set of grand philosophical notions and a moral constellation of high principles.

It is comedic how poorly they are able to cling to their abstract veneer of high minded beliefs because they will be libertarian on a Monday and become authoritarian on a Tuesday so long they can enjoy the cheap, crack like high that comes from guns and bigotry and those unearned wages of the public and psychological variety.

That video summarizes the idiotic way we approach the gun control issue very well. The real tragedy of the issue is that we do not even realize how much the economic burden we impose on ourselves (as individuals and taxpayers) by not enforcing or/and strengthening gun regulations.
