***Official Political Discussion Thread***

i applaud the drive to want to make it on your own. i think most if not all of us strive for that. but if we're being honest with ourselves we know that we got help and we got lucky at some point. things break the wrong way and life would be a mess. so most of us are ok with some sort of government system that keeps some balance. most if not all governments and societies think the same way. the degree of assistance is of course different in different societies and between the different political parties.

second, even if we're not talking about any sort of assistance, most people and governments and societies agree that individuals acting completely in their own self-interest is actually detrimental to every individual in that society. this is basic cooperativity. most organisms, even some single-celled ones, have figured that out. save for the

Ok, I'm back for one more response. This is not the first time Rusty and I have this debate. And every time he brings up some kind of entitlement,I give him the same answer. "It was enacted before I was born so I can't fight it". It's good rhetoric he's using to box me in a corner but every single time my answer is the same because I already know what he's doing.

Brah, you weren't even responding to me when you made that "it was enacted before......" comment

Damn, people really think this way. He ignores the fact that the roads and bridges he drives on are paid for by tax dollars. Most of the food in our grocery stores are subsidized by the government. Most government subsidies go to corporations not even federal aid.

All that was enacted before I was able to vote. So I have to live with. It's damn near impossible to overturn existing legislation. And I take the world as it is and it prevent it from getting worse.

So don't blame me for you boxing yourself into a corner this time famb

Rusty, we have literally had that convo before. I guess he learned from your playbook, my bad. My answer remains the same.

And I play the hand I'm dealt, I was born into a system that existed for decades. Yes, I took out the loans but as I stated before they were paid back with interest. The taxpayers got their money back and that's what I care about.

Your views always interest me. Do you have any personal favorite political figures?

This dude rico x hood rico x hood just said a couple of pages back that one of his parents grew up in public housing in the Bronx, too.

You literally can't make this **** up with dudes like him and ninjahood ninjahood

Well I hope in your day to day you let people know public housing and section 8 is not a life worth living because they don't pay for it. Others do. If you do that, then the people's investment in you paid some dividends

I completely disagree with this, and honestly think it is a borderline disgusting opinion to have.

But side question, do you feel the same way about people in NYC on rent control. Those landlord get tax credits paid for by taxpayers to offset the lost in rent money. Just askin :nerd:

keeping your own money by getting taxed less isnt da government subsidizing others b...

liberals act like u keeping your own money that u earned is somehow da government gettin jerked...some counting da next man's paper b  :smh:

btw, public housing is considered a national failure..it only exist in NYC cuz liberals think concentrating poor folks in high rises is "racist".

Man if I said the sky was blue you'd disagree. I believe that all properties should be rented or sold at their fair market value. Plain and simple. Because I know people in NYC that lived in rent controlled apartments and from what I understand the rent is tied to your income,so if you make more money, you pay more rent. In my view, that would eliminate the need for progression in some people. And that to me is a detriment.
How would you describe a person who lives in subsidized housing but has a decent paying job, reportedly owns "porsche money" in sneakers and wears expensive jewelry?

subsidized by who? yo, your existence is subsidized by Germany and da United States being Europe's police via NATO allows you to be online all day..

Well I see this convo has run its course. When the laughing emoticons come out, people have run out of things to say. You gentleman have a good one.

all this identity politics is cover for da fact that Hillary bout to get deep fried wit da FBI

who else ya got if that happens? kerry? Elizabeth Warren? Bernie?

she went in volunteering herself in front da 4th of July when "no one is paying attention"
Tuesday gonna b lit press coverage wise.

Lol. What did I say? Jk

Man this convo is crazy. If you guys want to experience small/ zero government move to Haiti. There's like no government there.
You're on your own lol.

Most public housing is nice, and well liked. For example, dorm rooms at universities, that is public housing too. It is just that society puts more care into the public housing we give to upper middle class students than we give the poor.

Plus liberal are the last few ones in favor of rent control, not conservatives. Further more, your landlord gets tax credits to offset the lost in rent. So the taxpayers have to come out their pocket to support your ***.

Anyway Rico is not a liberal, he is far from it, and he is the one that said you were gaming the system, not me.

So why aren't you going at him? Hmmm :nerd:

No I did not.

Why don't you ask Rico yourself if he supports rent control. I he will probably give the same answer.

I'm pretty sure he is against all forms of housing programs. Income grants, Housing subsidies, public housing, rent control, you name it.

Plus Rico is educated and isn't fond of me at all, not like I can trick him into believing something

Carson? low energy! to deafet good-with-people Bill and female Hillary and black Obama and low income Bernie (or is Trump going with "Jewish Bernie" these days?) we need someone who can stomach all their crooked lies. Doug Christie and Marky Mark's love child in 2024.

this is what we should be talking about. can't believe everybody in this thread keeps trying to deflect by talking about freeloaders.

Republicans are going to be sick  . Innocent of intentionally hiding information. And they are recommending not doing anything

What a waste of time and funds. Wonder what they will try to hinge on her now. Smh.

Just turned on Fox News to see what they said and they have a former assistant director of the FBI and he said that the investigation was thorough and we should believe that. But of course now they are not picking on little things. But they are even speechless
