In regards to da biased media, I've always found it odd to see national news stations blatantly inject personal opinions and bias into the reporting of news. Is that common place in all of these mainstream stations?
In contrast, we only have 2 national news stations on tv here in the northern part of Belgium but both pride themselves on being as neutral as possible. There is always gonna be some bias in what they choose to report of course (one leans left, the other right) but the station and their news anchors never comment on what they're reporting, neither do the reporters. In the case of da Donald, a segment about him can be summed up as "Donald trump makes statement that caused controversy" followed by a video of whatever he said and that's that, no opinions about the content.
On the other hand, Fox News for example feels more like I'm watching propaganda instead of real reporting.
Do y'all have any laws regarding national news bias? Our newspapers are heavily biased, arguably more than those in the US, but they are recognized as such and are put in a different category than our national news. The idea here is that national news broadcasts should ideally provide completely neutral reporting, whereas newspapers are free to do whatever they want.

Unfortunately, yes. It's the only reason I stick to NPR/WTTW (public broadcaster) whenever I listen to the radio or watch TV to stay informed on current events (in addition, both broadcast the BBC news hour, which I like because i get to see how the US is portrayed abroad) . Unsurprisingly, the GOP led the charge to (and succeeded in) defunding the network of stations, which means that they've had to rely on more fundraising drives and private donations to operate.
There is an awesome book I'd recommend to understand the current abysmal state of US journalism. It will not cover the last decade of US journalism but it's a pretty good overview of how we got to the point where news outlets have come to rely on third hand accounts instead of going straight to the source. The title is "Bad News".

In 08 Obama told us exactly what he thought of Hillary as far as a presidential candidate. Now he's playing politics with the country by supporting her. Trump was simply putting himself in the best position to conduct his business. That's why he donated to BOTH sides. Big difference.
