Think of Tim Kaine for example, he is personally against abortion but supports pro-choice policy. I think that's what she meant. The deplorables comment is referring to 50% of the Trump supporters. The total amount of Trump supporters is not 50% of the country.
It is statistically impossible for that deplorable comment to be an insult to 1/2 of America

The population doesn't =/= eligible voters. Eligible voters doesn't mean likely voters. And voting Republican doesn't automatically make you a Trump supporter.

Even if all GOP voters are Trump supporters, that means at best she was talking about less that 10% of the population.

Please take a basic statistics class. It will help you.
