***Official Political Discussion Thread***

And for what reason?

Great parents...
They called in to the school and said "we're mourning the death of the country."

Looney Tunes Bananaland chick though.

I have friends who kept their kids home from school today :wow:

My neighbors all look sad, some have legit tears in their eyes.

They're mostly Mexican, they know **** is about to get real for some people in their family. :smh:

I need someone to seriously break down this whole mexican immigration thing to me.

Not what an immigrant is (obviously), but why they don't want to go legit if they want to live here.

I'm dead serious, and not rollin in the least bit. Someone please explain why an illegal immigrant would move here and think that its going to be sweet forever without them having to be legalized..

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the situation. But I need to understand both sides first.

  I appreciate the insight but I just don't see it.

Your listing the worst case scenario in every scenario.

Dude I'm telling you what they SAID they would do. Unless they are lying...

but like I said, what they promise is a good indication of what they will attempt to do.

You asked why are people scared, everything I wrote on that list doesn't have to come true to justify fear. If we get some new tough on crime laws, that ALONE is enough to send multiple generations of black and brown people into poverty.

I get what your saying.

My only issue is that these are all just fear based assumptions.

They are not fear based assumption when the GOP and Trump said they will do it, and they now have the political power to do it.

Every Dem in a state Trump won is now scared that if they don't give him bipartisanship, they're will be retribution

Because they can't couldn't on their base to back them up in elections.

If you're in Cali or NY and you wrote in a random, don't let people clown you.

Those were never going red anyway.

If you were in Ohio, FL, and you did that tho...

Yeah the NY vote had no effect in this election, NY stood behind Hillary by a large margin....

FLORIDA, OHIO, NC, WINSCONSIN....anyone who voted 3rd party or didn't vote at all in those states, Juno off a bridge, this is on you all.

I posted something similar in the Drumpf thread, but I think it boils down to something very simple: Majority of people are instinctual and relied on their ape-like instincts to vote for what are genes tell us is the best leader. In this case, it is the authoritarian chubby guy who builds big shiny things.

Really, it's as simple as that. We can have all these intellectual discussions (Rusty, Rex, Meth, etc.) but the average person? They aren't interested or capable of engaging in honest assessments of a candidate. People are tribal. People are biased. Most people aren't versed in how to be intellectually honest.

We can spend years trying to figure out why this percentage of that subgroup voted one way or another. It's going to be a combination of everything. But it boils down to a strong man with empty rhetoric.

This election though is why you need to police racial disloyalty, you need **** like uncle tom, strong social taboos to prevent people from selling out.

Latino people need that, but they are probabaly too disparate culturally to make it happen.
I get what your saying.

My only issue is that these are all just fear based assumptions.

these. aren't. assumptions, it's what they said.

Trump, did say he would not necessarily suport NATO allies.

Paul Ryan "way forward" plans have been written down, they are on paper, you can read them now.

We have the list of Donald's likely supreme court appointments and the qualities he's looking for.

We have heard future AG Guliani's opinions, on crime, civil rights, we've seen him in action as a prosecutor and mayor of new York.

The only question is whether they can execute.

Again I ask YOU and the congregation....now that we have a wake up call....what next?? Who and what collectively do WE get behind. We simply can't do that and achieve our dreams if you are over here voting for whoever and I'm over here voting for whoever and 2-3 brothers over here are voting for whoever and white supremacy is continuously driving down the middle of the field while we're separated scoring at will.

First and foremost we have to look at ourselves and cleanse our minds of all the self hate and all the non important things that plague our minds that prevent us from becoming a real respected conglomerate and finally form a union of togetherness. We really have to say **** all these other factors that don't matter outside of our families and communities and seek out the people who actually want to help us flourish and thrive as people. It starts with loving yourself and who you are and then surrounding yourself with like minded individuals and even the people who don't feel that way try to educate them to the best of your abilities hoping that they start to see their self worth and importance to our survival as a race of people. Malcolm and Martin didn't die for this and if my four year old daughter can understand and recognize who they were and what they fought for theirs no excuse why our youth can't. Its going to take a nation of our people starting to really love themselves and want change and be willing to fight for that **** regardless of anything. I would love the place a large responsibility of leadership on our athletes, entertainers, musicians, etc. who have the ear of the youth but unfortunately that's not going to happen its gonna have to come from us within our communities everyday. I do my part everyday with my 4th and 5th grade youth but I have to do way more.

btw, Hillary about to give her concession speech if anyone's interested in watching

I hope she talks about how this country is about we the people, not the president. Inspire/enable us to keep control and now to give it to the loud overweight ape.

Real question: is it because they are not citizens or are they legit upset because of what Trump will supposedly do to minorities?

As someone who works with Medicaid and Obamacare almost everyday, it's a joke. Everyday I see people of all races who Obamacare is supposed to help not even knowing what it is or what it can do for them.

It's FREE or dirt cheap to some people, but they don't even get it. Why? Because they can still go to an ER, either on their own or by ambulance (which 99% of the time is not necessary) and get stabilized for free.....but they fail to realize it's just temporary and they need long term care and a primary care physician. Going back to the er time and time again is easier than scheduling an appt and paying for services.

You don't have health insurance?

"Nah, too expensive"
"Lost my Medicaid card"
"Wait, I can get it cheap?"
"I'm not gonna pay the bill anyway"
"You gotta take me to the hospital and they gotta treat me"
"I don't qualify for Medicaid"
"Waiting on my card"

You can't force people to do something they don't want to do, even if it's beneficial for them.

The Paris attacks were almost exactly one year ago and I'm feeling very similar emotionally. It's really eerie actually.

It's incredible how naive some of you can be, a lot of undocumented immigrants want nothing but to be legit, you think is fun to live that kind of life? Immigration process is long, tedious, expensive and then there is the fear you are denied and now you are on the radar and more than likely up for deportation....a lot of these people have kids who are American and the immigration laws donot care to split them up...they'll legit pack up the parents and leave the kids here.

So most rather remain in the shadows and pray for a reform, amnesty or marry someone with papers....all those hopes are out the window now, ICE bout to be milatirized and we gonna start hearing about immigration raids like we've never seen....the ideal that this was the land of opportunity, the same very ideal which Momma Hood benefitted from is gonna be abolished...Ninja seems to have the mentality of "oh well I got mines, screw the rest" sad brother....very sad.

I seriously felt this way about both sides.
For sure. It's not like the majority of either party is innocent of this.

And neither are so-called intellectuals. The college drop-out isn't the only one who can engage in tribal behavior. It's just who we are.

This is the American we chose, pepper thy angus.

2000

...and some dudes thought it couldn't get worse or "what's so wrong about a Trump Presidency" SMH. Try explaining to a school bus of young kids why KKK members are on the bridge waving flags in the morning as the ride to school. Thanks to the the Trump supporters and 3rd party candidates and individuals that wrote in names. Welcome to the new America we KKK flags greetings you in the morning.

I've never felt like this after an election. 2000, I felt like Democrats got cheated. 2004, I felt apathy; unwavering nothingness knowing that things would continue.

But I never felt afraid. Afraid for my country, my friends or my family. I've never felt like the United States identity was threatened, or that our social policy would be staring down the barrel of the 19th century gun. I don't know what will happen over the next 4 or 8 years, but taking Trump at his word gives me nothing but the feeling of fear. I don't want to say "I told you so" next year, or in 4 years; I don't want the nation to devolve into what Trump's voter base seems to represent.

This is potentially the turn of the country to the darkest days we'll ever see. Or it might not. But one thing I do know is that the only worse choice was Ted Cruz, so maybe it's not as bad as it could have been. Maybe.

Can anyone of the enlightened brehs tell me how a Trump presidency will affect everyday working class/poor people?
Won't change for the better that's for damn sure ...but healthcare won't be affordable if they get rid of the current plan we have now , less money for social programs to help the ppl that need em , police gonna go even more unchecked in those communities n no "jobs coming back" because they don't exist in this country anymore anyway

If I knew this, I wouldn't have asked the question, genius.

But thanks for the somewhat bit of knowledge.

But i do blame my ignorance on the matter for being why I don't understand both sides of the table.

Man I tapped out around 1am when it was over but not officially over.

Still "mind bottling" to me that a man who had a Hair vs. Hair match with Vince McMahon at WrestleMania is now the leader of the free world.
