he masterminded da Iraqi surge...

his downfall was being chatty patty to his side chick for her book.

Do you really think the surge was successful?

it was...till Obama pulled out prematurely.

thats a known fact.

The idea that's been peddled that a few thousand US troops would've somehow prevented Iraq's PM at the time, Maliki , from going through with his divisive sectarian politics when a record number of troops couldn't prevent the country from descending into civil war and chaos earlier is beyond overstated . Iraq was always gonna be a mess, keeping the troops there longer would've just bought time not change.

The surge should be looked at as an example of the limits of American hard power instead of some theoretical W

Obama followed Bush's timeline by the way. Surge failed and would have failed regardless of how long we fought. Not to mention current destabilization in the Middle East was caused by our presence and playing both sides at the same time as we played Sunnis and Shiites against each other.

Also Petraeus leaked classified info. Wasn't that a concern about Hillary I don't remember?

Also the negotiations being had with Carrier moving jobs is hilarious.

Middle East sectarian warfare predates any sort of American neocon intervention...we all know this.

da Surge bought us time that we was afforded, and we wouldn't of had ISIS metastasizing da way it did with da power vaccum we left behind when we pulled back prematurely.

Petraeus is back in the picture?

Of course his incompetence would make him an asset to the Trump team

you're ok with his breach of classified info but not Hillary's server?

who said i was ok with it? point being he was good at his job, Hillary? not so much.
it would've been nice to have focused on the issues this past year instead of dwelling on emails and fake news.

He was good at his job, because he leaked classified information. Not going so was part of his job

Ninja and his Republican ways

He's a centrist b

"Centrism is not moderate but rather supports strength, tradition, open mindedness and policy based on evidence not ideology"

Perfectly describes da ninja

Of course. Why, ninja, I thought you spent 6 hours a night following the news. It's shocking to me (and I'm sure the rest of the posters in here) that you somehow did not realize that there was a huge amount of fake news during this past election.

Let me educate you, friend.

"Pope Francis Shocks World, Endorses Donald Trump for President, Releases Statement"
This was posted by Ending the Fed and was shared 960,000 times on Facebook. The title is self-explanatory. It claimed that the Pope endorsed Trump. Which is of course ridiculous, given that Pope Francis said this about Trump: a person who “only thinks about building walls … and not building bridges is not Christian.” Not to mention the Pope's statements and modernization of the church since being appointed Pope often run in direct contrast to what Trump wants and may signal a migration of Catholic voters to the left over the next decade.

There are tons of other examples but rather than go through them one-by-one, here is an article about how Russians may have been behind the fake news.

It truly troubles me, good sir, that you were not aware of fake news and how widespread it was. I wonder if I had had a chance to reach you earlier, maybe you would have voted for Hillary instead. After all, "fake news" was spread by Republicans 2:1 versus Democrats, so it's fairly likely that you based your vote (and many other Trump voters) on false information.

Well, good day, sir, and thank you for allowing me the opportunity to educate you on this fine Monday afternoon.

The most troubling thing is that Trump himself falls for fake news as much as anyone. After Obama went out of his way to chastise his supporters for mistreating a Trump supporter who crashed his rally, Trump then went on to claim that Obama was yelling at the protestor. At this point I guess Trump is blurring the line between "fake news" and "outright ******* lie, now go **** yourself to death you orange-faced piece of ****", but that's the kind of groundbreaking anti-establishment ******** we need leading the free world.

Folks are already labelling it a "post-truth/fact era" :x :x
