***Official Political Discussion Thread***

We need some people with actual fiscal knowledge
Too bad there's nobody like that in office or in the cabinet or in the administration coming in.

Didn't Hillary feel the same way about flag burners? Media just seemed to forget about that lol
This is defi Italy somebody's backup. I think the posters Meth just banned for being hateful intolerant bigots just last week or so.

Cuz what's said in this post was brought up pgs ago and addressed.

[quote name=ninjahood]

I could go on and on about tax issues, but there are so many loopholes in the tax code that you can avoid to pay that 39% tax rate on the majority of your income. Guys like Warren Buffet and other investors' never pay that much because most of income comes from long term stock selling and retaining dividends, which triggers the long term capital tax rate, which is at a way lower rate than the federal personal income rate.

why should tax breaks be limited to folks with superpowered accountant savvy to navigate thru regulations? just lower it for everyone & eliminate most da deductions, and ignore da lobbied attempts at preserving carve outs.

simple b.

shouldn't take a guru to do your taxes.

matta fact.. Tax simplification already gonna happen come January. :pimp:
First off, this "tax simplification" plan that Trump proposed was a bunch of nonsense. Republicans would be mad if Congress were to pass tax code provisions that would eliminate the deductions that helps reduce their tax. In fact, Trump's treasury pick told the media this week that he would pretty much keep the system in tact except for two to three itemized deductions to be gone (which won't amount to much) and offer more tax cuts to the middle class and poor. So in the end of the day, nothing will happen to tax reform except for lower tax rates and even more deductions to claim. That doesn't mean the process is simplified,it just means you don't have to pay as much tax or even you could get a refund.
Granted for your current job, I doubt that you even have a complicated tax return. And yes, majority of Americans don't need "super powered" accountants to determine their tax liability. Those CPAs and EAs are often dealing with the big corps anyway.

Gas prices are going to rise as a result.

umm..no

gas prices rise when there's a shortage on da market, not a glut of supply.

da only reason there's a glut now is because da Saudi's peeped da United States is a sleeping giant in shale oil production and tried to slit its throat in its sleep, problem is nearly everyone else in OPEC can't sustain prolonged price wars.

now that Trump in Office, we can't be bullied around anymore, soon as that Keystone XL get green lit, OPEC can continue to try to cut their load...they'll just risk losing marketshare to Canadian Oil sands and US shale

Murica' :smokin

You do understand that if the American oil companies end up getting a monopoly on the market, they could decide to raise the prices because of the lack of competition. Corporations aren't charities, they aren't going to give away barrels of oil for peanuts if they could maximize the profits at a higher price point.

Zik, no one is flip flopping from one account to another. I'm not practicing bigotry. It's just a fact. She had legislation drafted in 05 saying pretty much the same thing.

Like I said, troll

Yo she was throwing stuff around all in my house b.. we been together for a long time and I've never seen her do anything like that before. Puncvjhing me scratching me like turned straight psycho. I don't know how ppl can just flip like that we been good for years.

what alternative universe u live in that u suggest North America could sew up a OIL monopoly

homeboy, our Domestic production on tilt will make sure OPEC can NEVER muscle a barrel of oil again or risk losing marketshare to Murica' Canada, and everyone who aint paddy caking wit da Saudis.

Once the exec actions are reversed(like ninja just said), taxes make sense (business tax esp.), insurance makes sense (insurance companies respond to doctors with a cookie recipie) and money starts flowing freely through the economy again, things will be very different. We all want more opportunity and that will be plentiful in the next few years.

You guys are all liberals man- how could you not support the push for jobs to be brought back to the homeland? A typical right winger would cost effectively outsource everything. Trump is making compromises and you will see how they reflect when things are moving more machine like in the near future

You have too much faith in American oil corporations

OPEC has all da cards NOW... American production evens da playing field.

OPEC is playing flight club... North American companies trying to GR releases.

Drumpf promised the American people one of these to drain the swamp:

But he just decided to get one of these instead:

Make that swamp nice and bubbly, so that its stench reaches the middle class people it didn't reach before.

That's really funny b. Everyone knew he had to say what he needed to say to get the vote. Every person running for public office does this- over exaggerate and make unrealistic promises. He did it as did Hillary, Barack. We all know how he was talking about the ACA beforehand. Things will be different, buy you can't just go into office and think your going to bring in a bunch of no-names to fight the cause with nothing to back them. Things will change, but things need to progress before instant gratification is expected

I'm more than familiar with this song and dance. Its the same routine every time.

May not be in this thread but some incident or event will happen, a thread will be made about it, you'll get wild out of pocket and post some offensive **** exposing yourself, then you'll get banned.

The majority of ppl that manage to stick around just so happen to not be Republican/"conservative"/right wing/Donald Trump supporters.

I think he just knew what he had to do to win.. and he did it. I wouldn't consider that corrupted by politics. I'm also not saying dude is the prime guy either. Never been too fond of him anyways. My whole angle with him is he isn't a lawyer that will go in and create more regulation in the wrong places

I thought that this was exactly what made Drumpf special for the Drumpfsters though - the fact that he wasn't "every person" who wasn't corrupted by the Washington political scene.

And who do they think was doing the corrupting?

I mean, look at this:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...tration-modern-american-history-a7449021.html

Trump’s nominee for commerce secretary is industrialist Wilbur Ross, who has amassed a fortune of $2.5 billion through decades at the helm of Rothschild’s bankruptcy practice and his own investment firm, according to Forbes.

Ross’ would-be deputy at the Commerce Department, Todd Ricketts, is the son of a billionaire and the co-owner of the Chicago Cubs. Steven Mnuchin, who Trump named to head the Treasury Department, is a former Goldman Sachs executive, hedge fund executive and Hollywood financier.

Betsy DeVos, a Michigan billionaire who was named as Trump’s education secretary, is the daughter-in-law of Richard DeVos, the co-founder of Amway. Her family has a net worth of $5.1 billion, according to Forbes. Elaine Chao, the choice for transportation secretary, is the daughter of a shipping magnate.

It is a group that has long spent big to influence politics. Mnuchin, Ross and DeVos each made hundreds of thousands of dollars of political contributions within the last two years, according to OpenSecrets.org. In Ross’s Manhattan office, next to a window overlooking Central Park, there is a table filled with pictures of Ross with candidates to whom he has contributed, including John A. Boehner, Michael Bloomberg and Bill Clinton.

Do they really have the common person's interests at heart? No, they're the ones buying 30k plates at fundraising parties!

Trump becoming (revealing?) everything he (said he) was against. America and the American people lose.

Is "snowflake" the new term incest byproduct Trump supporters use now to describe anyone using logic?

I've noticed that and "triggered" used frequently in the past few weeks
