Bernie wrote an op-ed today in the Washington Post lamenting the Carrier deal that Trump is boasting about:

Bernie Sanders: Carrier just showed corporations how to beat Donald Trump

https://www.washingtonpost.com/post...-to-beat-donald-trump/?utm_term=.772686b85c40

Just a short few months ago, Trump was pledging to force United Technologies to “pay a damn tax.” He was insisting on very steep tariffs for companies like Carrier that left the United States and wanted to sell their foreign-made products back in the United States. Instead of a damn tax, the company will be rewarded with a damn tax cut. Wow! How’s that for standing up to corporate greed? How’s that for punishing corporations that shut down in the United States and move abroad?

In essence, United Technologies took Trump hostage and won. And that should send a shock wave of fear through all workers across the country.

It's a good time to be rich and powerful in this country. **** the little guys. Right? Trump supporters, we won!

:x

Wow at the blatant racism I just witnessed. White chick in front of me let me cut her in line so I can deal with the Spanish cashier. Then she went to the white cashier.

Lol wow.

Yes, because they "won"

Also, it's funny how his supporters are eating this up, but when Obama saved over million jobs in the auto industry, he was called a socialist, communist, Muslim dictator. And that money was paid back

That's how corporations are
They will do almost anything to maximize profits

Funny thing is, Trump doesn't know a lot. But he knows that. He must've known he wasn't going to save the jobs.

He basically just gave his homies running these companies a discount in disguise of making it look like he's tryna keep them from moving jobs elsewhere

The only ppl Trump is looking out for is ppl like him :frown:

You do understand that if the American oil companies end up getting a monopoly on the market, they could decide to raise the prices because of the lack of competition. Corporations aren't charities, they aren't going to give away barrels of oil for peanuts if they could maximize the profits at a higher price point.

what alternative universe u live in that u suggest North America could sew up a OIL monopoly

homeboy, our Domestic production on tilt will make sure OPEC can NEVER muscle a barrel of oil again or risk losing marketshare to Murica' Canada, and everyone who aint paddy caking wit da Saudis.
You have too much faith in American oil corporations

OPEC has all da cards NOW... American production evens da playing field.

OPEC is playing flight club... North American companies trying to GR releases.

u got your eye off da ball thinking we da bad guys :smh:
The entire oil industry engages in predatory pricing in general, American oil companies are just going to follow the trend when they can justify higher prices to retain a profit due to increasing costs of production if they were to expand. The only positive is more American jobs, but the consumers would still have to pay more regardless.

Tbh most politicians from DC have been doing this for decades
Trump isn't going to be first to profit off this and certainly not the last

I think the delusion will continue at least for quite a while. His supporters will continue to defend everything he does no matter how much it goes against his campaign promises. At some point they'll have to grow frustrated defending their "god-emperor", as his minions on the_donald like to call him.

Can't really blame da liberals for everything either considering Trump has a republican majority on all fronts.

Honestly I think it's more of Pence doing than Trump because carrier is out of Indiana. Pence is probably letting Trump take "credit" for it though.

Actually a lot of Trump's picks have been influenced by Jared Kushner also

Not so sure about that. They can get very creative when it comes to blaming the left.

Lets fast forward to 2018 for a second:
*economy in shambles*
*food costs rise 100%*
*job layoffs in record numbers*

What will we hear from the poor, uneducated conservatives? "Thanks, Obama!"

But I thought Trump was "erasing da last of Obama's legacy" in January 2017?

the truth doesn't matter at all. anything good will be Trump's doing and anything bad will be blamed on Obama.
