Man. About 95 percent of all successful ppl I knew from college did weed at one point.... People who are homeowners now, with kids, and nice paying jobs. None of them really do weed like that anymore either. We left that behind in college.

did they leave the alcohol too?

No. No one are alcoholics or anything. But parties we still drinking. Just no one is getting wasted anymore cuz more and more of ppl are becoming parents.

It has a lot to do with when in life you start and who you have around you keeping you on track.

If I had started smoking at 16, I know I would have fell into a pit of laziness and eventually depression.

You've got to be old enough to understand your limits and get moderation. Weed at 16 will steal your soul depending on a few factors.

I do not drink or smoke and I find the divergence in americans views on alchohol and weed to be extremely puzzling.

If I were to engage in an unhealthy vice, I would choose weed over alchol EASY.

Far less dangerous.

but have you tried either of the 2?

I remember when I had nothing to lose them wasted nights were the best. :smokin

^^^Some of the worst nights of my life are from when I was wasted, so I don't remember them as fondly. Lol.

The better drinking nights are from when I was in a better mental place and wasn't looking to get completely wasted, and knew exactly how much to drink.

The one time I got high. That wasn't a good night and scarred me for life, but can't hate on ppl who have done or do weed. By itself it's harmless. The stigma that it's a motivation killer and a gateway drug is not true.

I see former pro Trump stoners and transgender folks turning on Trump now on twitter

I just don't get it reading some of these tweets....what did that man or his party ever say that made these people think he or the party behind him would care abut the LGBTQ community and weed....like how delusional....

I'm getting tired of this pattern. People are ok with everything trump does until it hits home.

And then they have the nerve to act surprised.

I will take some solace seeing the look on Brother Steve Harvey's face when he's sent to a private prison for smoking pot.
This is a real frustrating part seeing the different times some Trump supporters finally tap out is only when it affects them....they really thought this dude and the republicans was gonna let them in on the con.

Alcohol is fairly unique as a drug. Unlike most drugs, alcohol induces effects based on massive volumes.

It's somehow the least potent and the most destructive drug at the same time.

As for the overall war on drugs, the prison/punishment approach is a terrible, outdated idea. Approaching it as a public health question though is the right idea. Like we did with tobacco, a combination of regulation, litigation, and advertising can have profound effects:

Also, all drugs are not the same. That is an oversimplistic, outdated approach. That's not to say that it's not possible the optimal solution is to treat all drugs with the same approach from a policy perspective.

Go Russia!

The Dems are officially America's patriotic party ,the hypocrisy across the board on so many key conservative issues since Trump took office has been astounding

Hillary would've already had impeachment proceedings called against her if she had a first month anywhere near Trumps

There is no such thing as a valid scientific argument for banning and criminalizing marijuana. Charging and imprisoning people for minor marijuana use/sale is nonsense.

Alcohol is irrefutably much worse than weed. There's a reason I've yet to meet a single doctor who disapproves of it even though it's illegal here. Some of the top specialists in this country working on my diagnosis actually suggested and encourage using it for pain relief. That includes neurologists, geneticists, endocrinologists, ... I'm prescribed a vast array of different medications including opiate painkillers, sleeping medication, a cortisol and testosterone hormone treatment, ...

Obviously I can't drink much alcohol. I'm allowed to in small doses (1 or 2 beers at most) on rare occasions but to drink a more significant amount is potentially lethal because of numerous medication interactions. On the other hand, my specialists are very supportive of cannabis because I can safely use it for effective pain relief with zero interactions with my other medications. My mom was strongly against cannabis (and alcohol and all other drugs) but after the specialists explained its benefits they changed her views. Now she gets it for me from a coworker who lives just on the Dutch border, where you can easily get medicinal grade cannabis.
