I hope none of you guys have kids, siblings, or friends that are thinking about joining the military. Ish is about to get real.

I want to empathize, but I remember that the military carried Trump's *** to the oval office, even after he disrespected a gold star family and McCain.

They will have to

deal with it.

I won't be drafted (turf toe) and most of my friends and family are too old to be drafted or aren't citizens.

So let's have ourselves war!

And I want an old-school WWI-type war. Not these ***** wars where only a few thousand die. I want deaths in the millions. Like back when America was great and we fought war like real men.

Most of my info and the info other dudes post in here are from articles in case you haven't noticed. Even when he gives a speech it is mainly transcripts that get posted. Guess what, Trump controls that now. If you're into politics or public policy, you have to pay attention to Trump's words and actions. I'm glad you feel me bruh. What is the more to it you speak of tho?

I've only really started caring as I've gotten older and had more life experiences but I understand now how politics can make or ruin lives.

I have friends who could be deported or won't be able to travel. Or whose friends or family will be torn apart.

I know now what health care actually means and how transformative the ACA was and how destructive the current Republican efforts to repeal the ACA could be.

I understand how dangerous it will be to ignore climate change, to roll back environmental protections, to ignore science.

I see how much help the inner cities need, not in the form of law and order, but in the form of investment and understanding.

I could go on and on.

Sure, my influence is small, but all of us have friends and family who we can talk to. We have or will have opportunities to get involved, maybe not by running for office but by donating money or making other statements.

This stuff is important. But maybe we're not as efficient at effecting change as we could be.

It kinda sounds like you only paid casual attention to the election if you're attributing his win to shock and awe tactics. His unusual campaign may have been why a lot of people paid more attention to his election than normal, but it's not why he won the election. I would break down his win to voter apathy due to people just plain underestimating him, also Hilary haters and Bernie dudes voting 3rd party, people assuming 'both sides are the same' and choosing to sit out the election to make a statement, and voter suppression.

Tonight we learned he will include his infrastructure plan after previous reports said he will not include it in the budget this year.

He said that the middle class gets a tax break, something that he didn't reaffirm since people pointed out that his tax proposal actually raises taxes on some of them

We found out that immigration reform might be on the table.

I follow the issues, so I can follow that changes in policy Trump is talking about when he says it. And it serves as a benchmark to grade the proposed policy against.

Stop assuming we just watch it to be outraged just because we use NT to vent.

I guess the best thing I could compare it to is playing sports. You have those players who talk **** and play dirty, their only goal is to get in your head and throw you off your game so they can take advantage of you. Does that mean you stop playing?
