The Volkswagen Golf BlueMotion shows how far things have come in a fairly short amount of time. The 1.6l TDI engine is capable of 73 mpg yet emits only 85 g/km of CO2 emissions. That mileage claim combined with a 13 gallon tank gets you over 970 miles on a single tank of fuel in a Golf with virtually no compromises in packaging, rock hard tires and other tricks normally used to claim those types of mileage numbers. At this point it is labeled as a concept, but VW says this is a formality and that we’ll see this car go to production next year. Whether we ever see it on our side of the pond remains to be seen of course.

I have read rumors of the US getting a 60 MPG Version :pimp: which is still :wow: :pimp:

If I were to get a commuter car I would prob get a Golf Diesel because it gets good mileage and still looks like a normal car. It's nice that VW is trying to improve their diesel models.

More manufacturers should be getting into diesel. Rather cop a diesel than a hybrid.

Naw b im good.
American v8>>> da rest

You do realize a lot of people have a fuel efficient DD and a weekend car that guzzles gas? I highly doubt people would use this car for anything other than a commuter.

Audi / VW are some of the most tuned Euro cars on the market from a looks standpoint....

Yeah and Hondas are the most tuned cars period. Doesn't mean they aren't daily commuter cars.

Just because you can tune a DD, that doesn't make it a genuine sports car, designed for the purpose of being a muscle vehicle.

You posted a GTI and an r32. Highly doubt people are gonna be tuning the golf op posted.
This is what I meant MMG. If people are gonna be this, it's going to be solely for the gas mileage. The car will not be fast at all compared to other golfs. If you tune it, say goodbye to that MPG and that's if you're talking about parts that can handle Diesel Fuel

By tune I meant for looks

A car that looks good and gets good MPG :pimp:

I could care less if it can go 0-60 in how ever many seconds. Well get to the same top speed, ill get there what? A few seconds after you.

Ahhh gotcha. Yeah, V dubs are very tuner friendly. I thought you were talking about performance mods.

Me personally, I like the cleaner look. Sure, I'll add some cosmetic stuff to it but I will never make it seem like my car is faster than it really is with cosmetic mods. That's just me, I like the sleeper and subtle look *shrugs(

And the great thing a out VW is for the most part the GTI / Golf is the same body, biggest differences is the Bumpers and Lights which thanks to VW can just be added.

I can have this TDI Golf looking like a GTI :pimp:
