The descriptions I’m listing are for indoor on court use of my shoes. I’m a 5’10” combo guard weighing about 170 pounds and I’m constantly running like RIP, Reggie and Iverson nonstop. I’m also getting up there in age for my style and speed of play, which I’m still capable of doing against the young guns, I just need the right setup to avoid pain which is holding me back a little. I can't wear any shoe that I want anymore.

I was hooping in Huarache 2k4′s, 2k5's and Kobe 3's for about 5 years and I loved them all.

I then bought the 2008 Hyperdunks (lightest basketball shoe at the time) in 2009 and started experiencing knee issues because they had no cushioning, but they did have good width for my wide feet. The Fly Wade 1′s were next and had good cushioning but my feet started to hurt because they were very narrow. I tried to go back to the 2k4’s but they just don’t feel right anymore because the Hyperdunks & Wades were so responsive, light and low to the ground.

I then bought the Jordan 2012 Wolf Grey pack on advice from another shoe review site and I bought them online without trying them on. For me they were the worst out of all the shoes I list because even with thick Elite Nike socks, normal and double, these just tore up my pinky toes with very deep cuts, which made me stop playing for a week and a half. I could also feel the harsh material of the booties, and the ankle support was awkward like the shoe string was the support and it dug into my ankles.

I then went to try on the Zoom Solider 6 and bought them because of another review. These shoes are true to size, light, have great cushioning & traction. My foot pain was coming from the pinky toe area which is now gone but they have a weird like curvature by the big toes that gives me bad blisters on that side of the foot, and also your big toe can move in them so they could get stubbed and sprained, which just happened to both my toes. Also because of the curvature you kind of get a weird off balance feel when you’re driving hard to the lane pushing in that certain toe direction. If not for the curvature issue these would be my personal favorite shoes of all time, over the Huarache 2K4’s.

I tried on the Adizero Rose 2.5, they are very narrow and there was a plate or something of that nature that stuck into the side of my feet in the middle by my arch. I tried on a half size bigger Lebron 9 and the arch in middle, gives it such an awkward feel that I can’t play in them. I tried on a half size bigger Hyperdunk 2012 and they are extremely narrow, more than the Rose 2.5. All the Kobe’s are now narrow & low cut so they are out.

I’ve been waiting for the Lebron 10’s but people say these are as narrow as the new Hyperdunks plus they are heavy & bulky like most of Lebron’s shoes.

I tried on a half size bigger Lebron 9 Elite because my size was out of stock and they felt good but they run true to size so they were too long. Are the Lebron 9 Elite’s the next step up, and could that fix my Solider 6 issue because they are so similar and they don’t have the curvature? I know they are heavier then the Solider 6 but people say they feel light and claim they are the best performance basketball shoe of all time.

I’m also going to get custom orthotics inserts made, but I still need the right shoe that's wide, light with the right platform, to avoid issues.

I would post this in sneaker reviews but it has changed. Any advice on a wide, light supportive basketball shoe for a guard would be great, thanks.
