Lance Armstrong dropped from Nike

I want to invest in the performance enhancing drugs that can make cancer patients beat elite athletes in a distance bicycle race.  I didn't even know they had **** like that in real life.

I've always said this, if America really wanted to end the recession then getting back into the black, all they'd have to do is to make recreational drugs legal, and then collect taxes on them.

I'd like to see legitimate research on performance enhancers, as Viagra is indeed a performance enhancer. If scientists could actually use this research to help battle disease, like they've done with AZT and other cocktails that help to battle HIV, perhaps they could go even further with this research, making the drugs much less toxic, then having lesser or no negative side effects, while actually being beneficial to all users, both recreational and medicinal.

The stigma attached to performance enhancers, is that they will kill you if used improperly. Well, a man over the age of sixty can get a script for GH these days, then not be considered a criminal, then actually enhancing his life. Maybe the next move Lance can make, is to endorse how EPO had actually enhanced his bike career, post cancer?

never been a fan of lance....he's a known douchebag....Greg LeMond is a legend in cycling just as much as lance is and he can't even cosign his bs

He is definitely a cheater, but I'm not going to demonize Lance as a human being. Ben Rapistberger has done way worse things to humanity.

So can't they both be criticized for their actions or, as you put it, demonized?

I never understood that excuse...well, this person B is worse, give person A a break.
cant be srs, different crimes have different punishments first off, but if you're just talkin about criticism, then i agree with you

He said demonize which has nothing to do with legal matters but public (and his personal) opinion. Read before you respond and you wouldn't have needed to write the first part of your reply.

Rapist or liar, cheat, fraud...neither deserves respect in my opinion and my point was Rothlisberger has nothing to do with Armstrong unless you're looking for a way to give Armstrong some leniency. As I said, just because A > B doesn't mean A = +.
i never mentioned the legality of either action, "Read before you respond and you wouldn't have needed to write the first part of your reply." and even in opinion you are a damn lie if you say someone taking performance enhancers is not a better evil than rape, especially since its a large well-known rumor that everyone juices, its kinda like what that swimmer said about taking extra kicks, it would be dumb not to do it since everyone is doing it

he's a known douchebag? and you heard from other people's experiences? kinda lame, dont you think? already making judgments without really knowing someone... majority of athletes are being portrayed as douchebags, but until you really know them, you shouldnt pass judgment

What % of the money donated to the Livestrong foundation actually goes towards research? The problem with alot of these charities is that you have administration overheard sucking up almost 50% of donations and the remaining 48% is divied up amongst promotional expenses, etc... with only 1% or 2% going toward actual research.

When you have a profit driven, marketing company like Nike shilling the crap out of your 'charity brand' to fill their bottom line then that begs the question of whether any research money was spent at all.

Him doping took glory, fame, and opportunity from other individuals, and set forth a chain reaction of hate, retaliation, and deceipt. I never cared much for Lance anyways.

LIVESTRONG is a marketing ploy and gimmick. I think local communities w/ blatant non profit incentives to be more rewarding.

Anyone that leaves their wife after she stayed by their side during the entire cancer ordeal is a douche bag for life, especially if the other woman is Sheryl Crow.

i was always hoping that lance would pull through this and it was all exajerated but cant really beleive his defense anymore. imo right to drop lance right to keep livestrong alive

No, Lance is a known douchebag.

what's shocking to me is just how BAD and how deep Lance was in, now it's being reported he was offering bribes to other cyclists, seems like with each new day new info/allegations come out.. shocking!

prisoners of the moment,

you people really think he is the only one doping.

thats like saying hulk hogan was the only one on the juice in the wwf.

if lance were stripped of his titles and the runner ups from the races were crowned, can you guess how many of those winners also have doping scandals???

don't blame the image, blame the sport.

So why did Nike drop Lance and NOT Tiger? Is a man that cheats in a sport any better then a man that cheats on his wife?

Because him cheating on his wife is his own personal issue. It's not against the law like Michael Vick dogfighting or violating the rules of sports by using enhancements.

Still that means in some way form or fashion NIKE condones cheating. I mean Gillette dropped Tiger because of his actions in his personal life. Just because his was a legal action dose not change the fact that his actions were wrong.

That's Gillette. Just because they did it doesn't mean Nike has to. No, it doesn't mean Nike condones cheating on his wife, it means, 'Okay, you got problems with your wife, that's your personal issue. It's not gonna affect your game or anything, so we'll sit this one out.' His actions are wrong, but not against the law or any rules, therefore it doesn't affect Nike in anyway.

By the way, from what I hear, it's common knowledge in the Cleveland/Akron area that Lebron cheated on his wife before they got married all the time. Look what happened with him and Nike.

Nike's just doing what any other company will do. Unlike Tiger Woods and Kobe, Lance's career is over, and there's no more money to be made off him. All business.

We shouldn't worry to much. Lance Armstrong will LIVESTRONG! And so will USA products made in China. Go...under paid chinese workers with no benefits! Now that's Capitalism in a Socialist country. I just love it!!! No really I do.

Scandal or not. I know first hand that steroids are the way to go to win I have seen it in actions from High School Athletes to College Athletes and it is great!
