**2012-13 "Gentlemanly" NBA PG Discussion Thread**

^ sounds like your expecting him to average double digit assist, right now Parker has 7.7 apg for kyrie to reach that as his ceiling is good I feel like 9 apg is def out of his future

Brought this up in the Wizards thread, but I feel there is an EXTREME double-standard when discussing Wall/Irving. There's a love affair w/ Kyrie Irving who's team is just as bad...but dude can do no wrong. What's going to happen next year if Irving continues to do well statistically but the team is still poor?

Dudes really ranking a 20-yo who averages 5.5 assists on a 16-win team, over veteran PGs who have won championships and know the ins and outs of the position. That's crazy..

CO-SIGN.

To me, a PGs TRUE value should be measured in how they facilitate the offense and also the wins/losses. You also have to throw defense in there as well. Stats are nice, but there is more to it than that.

Irving is playmaker which is what I want my Pg to be. Assist has to many factors to be held at such a high standard. Factors that are totally out of your hands

Unc Drew is a top 5 this season

It's marketing double J unfortunately.

Everyone loves Kyrie cause of the Olympic select team, the uncle drew, seeing him cook and now him being the "savior" for the cavs.

Also it helps when the medias on your back as well.

And while Uncle Drew gets a pass for his team because he isn't in a good situation , Wall gets all the criticism because his team had yet to improve.

I think they are both excellent young point guards and your right, the bias is unfair, been when your a media darling there's isn't much you can say.

I think wall in the long run is gonna be a better natural PG and a better defender while Kyrie is that scoring PG.

Calling Wall a "moron" isn't warrented. What makes him a moron? Since he has come
back from injury, the Wiz's are a totally different team.

Steph Curry "Glass ankles" but still played at an All-Star level the first half of the NBA season.

Deron Williams is still a bad man as Stephen A would say. He's playing through numerous injuries. I admit, he needs to get into better playing and focus more on his fitness, but don't try to put down his ability based off one first half of the season after he's been destroying other teams PG's for year. He is not on the decline. His play this season isn't due to age at all, I blame injuries.

Wall is definitely a moron. Son is more worried about being the man and a celebrity than his game. Since he's been back, he looks better. I also think teams aren't taking the Wizards seriously though.

Curry, he has glass ankles. Don't know how I'm wrong. I didn't say he was trash, I just see a lot of missed games in his future.

D Will. He's good but not what he was. He looks like a baby horse galloping around. So try to tell me he's not overweight please. AND now he grabs his wrists or ankle every game. Either he's looking for an excuse or is really hurt.

Dude to fix d wills ankle injuries he'd need season ending surgery he is settling for the plasma rich procedure, cause he doesn't want to miss the season

Stephan curry misses some games cause the warriors are crazy cautious

Wall really isn't that type of player your saying, I've seen him improve certain mental aspects of his game, and he's def the "man" as his leadership on the floor has bettered the team

Good points. I was also thinking of the Lebron effect as well. Kyrie is the goods. No denying that...however, I think a lot of the media push has to do with the way that Lebron basically tore the city down when he left. There needed to be a "next" guy, and he's it.

You make no sense. How is Wall more worried about being the "man?" Some of the stuff you guys come up with....Jeez.

Anddddd?????

Sky is the limit for young folk. And boy am I pumped to see his game evolve.

I don't think anyone denies that.

D Will is hurt and only getting older but is also overweight. He's not a top 5 PG anymore

Wall is a moron. My opinion, I don't dislike the guy but I've been to too many Wizard home games. Son has growing up to do.

Curry, they might be cautious or not but he's missed more games than you would like to see.

I didn't say any of these guys sucked or were trash. So not even sure why anyone is questioning what I'm posting.

*calls Wall a moron*

asks for clarification as to why

*says..."because."*

convincing.

Whoa, calling Wall a moron is going too far. The guy has the best PG skills of any of the young pg's and he is already one of the best defensive pg's in basketball. What reason do you have for calling him a moron? He doesn't have growing up to do because the guy is a model citizen and a leader. Not sure where you are getting this bs from.

One thing I will say about westbrook..As explosive as he is, his durability

I think that's something many don't appreciate in general. Plenty will consider being injury prone a negative quality but we don't hear enough praise for those who don't get hurt. Granted, some injuries are just freak accidents but Russ hasn't missed a game.

Awwww shiiii, you done jinxed the guy!!

I don't care how "stupid" anyone thinks he is. There is no defending a list that doesn't have Westbrook in the first tier.

that's what ol' boy said about Rondo then 2 days later...........

Hell, I would even say that we punish the PERSON too much for being injury prone. As if people chose to be injured. I mean we have to remember that they are high powered machines (their bodies) that are put their hell on a daily basis. A lot of those injuries are a result of wear and tear. Doesn't always mean they didn't take care of themselves. We are just so quick to penalize someone for being injury prone when a lot of time it isn't in their control.

^Exactly. Injuries are part of the game.. Still can't believe Russell has not missed a game in college/NBA..I mean I would argue that he is just as explosive as Rose, and to be injury-free for years...Props to the man

Him not getting hurt doesn't mean he takes better care of his body than Rose. I am sure some think that. FREAK accidents. Things happen.
