What's up NT...I was just offered a retail sales job with AT&T wireless at one of the top stores in Indiana and was curious if any of you have any experience working with them. Interested in all aspects (pros/cons) to see if this is an opportunity worth taking advantage of. Appreciate any info you guys might have.

The job offered is a small salary + commission, and the goals seemed pretty attainable. Feel like I could exceed the goal pretty easily, but want to ask around before accepting.

Applied online and sent my resume. Had two interviews already and they offered me the position. I honestly have sent so many resumes/apps out recently and heard AT&T was pretty difficult to get in to so I really didn't even expect a response. I have to respond/sign my acceptance letter within 48 hours according to the regional hiring manager. I have a degree in telecommunications and have been looking for a more career type position and this happened to come up. I've read in to the benefits, possible salary opportunities and it seems promising, I'm just looking for some input from someone inside the field.

CHECKINGIN...

Job.is.cake with cool money if you aren't scared to talk to people.

Been doing it for a fee months and I love it...

I'llanswer any questions I can

Typing from brand new HTC Onex theyjust gave me today.

Thanks for the congrats man. Ricky409, appreciate the info. I've worked with customer service, sales, etc. so talking to people isn't a problem at all. When I had my 2nd interview it was in-store and there was around 4-5 days left on the month and every sales associate had reached/exceeded their goal so that was a good sign. What was the training like? The hiring manager said I would be sent to Dallas for 2 weeks at their training headquarters if I accept. I'm about 95% sure I'm going to take it. Just curious, they were saying if I met minimum goals, I would be around 40k on the year, how easy is it to exceed their required goal where you're at?

Both my cousins are regional manager's out here in Los Angeles, they said the job is easy, and if your good with people, even easier.

Great pay too, I'm in the process of trying to get hired too :nerd:

How do I spit game at a chick who works at an AT&T store? Sorry for the thread jack, but I need to know!

It's easy once u get used to the computer system. I got a job at a tmobile store and its light just talking to people nicely

I applied to AT&T twice over the summer...nothing. So I guess it is rather difficult so congrats, best of luck

first off congrats my g, i've been trying to get on with them since last summer. I have a question though, i finally received a call back from the norcal hiring agent based out of hawaii but was at work so i missed the call. i've been trying to get in touch with her since but to no avail, my question is should i just say f' it and chalk it as an L or what? it's been about a month since her call f.y.i

If you work near a college thats pretty decent, you'll get tons of foreign students coming in at the beginning of each semester... you will probably be one of the first americans they have to come in contact with for go phones.. take advantage! buns will be had!

QQuick Rundown on the gig...

Pay is dope... I know cats that do $70k.... They're the top notch sellers... That hustle wears off after awhile and is offset by your hourly...

Cats that been on for years really don't hustle cuz they're just showing up, barely working, and still pulling in 55-60k.

Part time can make 35-40k...

As far as getting at the yambs... I don't do it. Partly cuz where I live there's a lot of older white folks... So I don't have the chance.

But also you can get fired at the drop of a hat because you have a lot personal information... My advice is to KEEP your personal line.

They're going to give you a company phone with unlimited talk and text and unlimited data. You can make this your own phone and its free. I just don't trust it cuz its company owned so they can do a phone check and look at what you got going. My boy got a probation cuz he had pictures of yambs and they did a phone check.

It sucks cuz the phones are dope.... I am on an HTC one x now and will get the note 2 for a couple weeks when it comes out.

Training is here in Dallas. If you're more than 50 miles from training they'll give you a hotel and a meal card with $42 a day on it. And they reimburse you for gas. .55 a mile.

Training is easy and instructors are cool.

You'll be in the store and will shadow a designated person each day for a couple weeks. They'll let you so some transactions every now and again... Then after they see you're ready you're on your own.

Opus ie tricky at first... You'll realize some things you can and can't do. For instance, you want to put someone into a Mobile share plan and direct fulfill an iPhone 5...

Well you need to move them into a mobile share first cuz when you place w direct fulfill, you can't adjust anything on that line until they activate the phone...

You'll learn little stuff like that... They tell you not to use telegence but learn it after you get opus Mobil down. It will let you do many things you can't do with opus... Its powerful so beeeeee careful...

Goals are very easily attainable. You're objective ie to get to 170% because it kicks out commission at 250%... So lets say you need 100 opps ... Try to hit 170 because your payout will go com 169% commission to 250%...

Goals change every month but they aren't hard. You'll be hustling for each sale cuz you're new and the commission ... And the old heads will let you eat. I promise.

The best way to get EASY gross ads is adding tablets to the mobile share. My trick is to see if they have an ipad and if they do convince them to add the tablet to mobile share. Its only ten bucks a month and they can use it as an upgrade in the future.

If they don't have the tablet with them just activate a sim card with an ipad imei (grab one of the display) tape it to the back of your card and write "for ipad" on it...
Gross ads are the hardest to get, but I get those easy ... I'm somewhere around 200% in gross ads, 600% in tablet activations ...

Accessories count... Start high and work low... Stay at the front and get those people who just want to come in a buy a car charger. More money in your pocket.

I try to keep each customer to 45 min Max... But sometimes it goes longer... Just be nice smile crack jokes and get every they came with involved in the transaction. Hand out business cards lime candy too...

I'm part time and make enough for a $600 apt by myself, $200 in xredit card bills, cell phone lights etc...

I knock out ALL of ny bills with the commision check easy... About 33 hours a week.

As far as applying, i sent in a resume to a GANG of stores and got thr call back immediately.. try within a 25 mile radius... Its worth the drive...

Make sure you put detailed experience in your resume... Speak with confidence and reiterate that its not about selling but providing the best solution because in the end... A loyal customer gives more revenue than a one time big purchase customer...

Csr doesn't make as much rsr ...

Y'all are just straight hourly I think... It's still pretty good ... Around $15-$20 / Hr ... But no commission Checks... I think...

Not sure on that one though...

You'll be in there with all the yambs though ... All the chicks work the phones...

Only way you're getting close to that is if your commission target is dumb low.
If you made $20 + commission equal to what me make in stores ...

you'd be around $80-$90k
