Really tough times right now and it is really hard seeing light at the end of the tunnel with this pitching.

If the starters don't get it together by the end of this month I'd say we're in deep **** the rest of this season.

When your strength which has been the starting pitching for the past few years is now a weakness its time to find new ways to win games. We are towards the top of the league in RBI's with 2 outs which is a telling stat about how we battle up there are the plate. We can't afford to wait till the first 2 outs to be recorded we need to be in attack mode early trying to get that leadoff hitter on every inning. Can't see us making any big moves at the deadline so what we have now is what we will have in September. One run in a double header is disgusting.

Hopefully we can get healthy soon and hopefully we can find a capeable 5th starter.

The Giants fans strike again in the voting this year is at least a tad bit more understandable. Last year Freddy Sanchez was the leading vote getter for 2B

The knuckleball was working today for Dickey and the hitters couldn't figure him out.

Zito had one bag inning and it was enough. The lackluster offense carries on.

I know the draft is a crapshoot, but my initial reaction is that I couldnt be more disappointed with our draft picks.  With our first two picks, we draft high school kids....neither of which were in baseball america's top 100 prospects....neither play positions of need........and both may have signability issues. 

Sweet start to the draft.

Kruk addressed this by saying the kids are athletes and have the ability to play multiple positions as they grow. So a HS kid plaiyng SS is less likely to stay there throughout his career than a 2nd yr college player would be.

One of my buddies who got drafted growing up started off as a SS and moved to P.

If the Giants drafted a kid who was missing a leg, Kruk would find a way to spin it as a good pick.

I have less of an issue with the fact that they play positions we have locked up, than the fact that neither of these guys should have been drafted anywhere close to as high as we drafted him.  I was watching a draft prospect video on Arroyo, and one of the first things it said was (and I am paraphrasing) "although he likely will ever develop into a big time hitter...."  So why are we reaching for a guy that will likely never become a good hitter?!?!?

I know drafting isnt an exact science, but we made very puzzling picks yesterday.  Both players would have likely been available in the third round.

I'm not undervaluing your opinion - I think you raise valid concerns.

Watch, we'll get someone in the 14th round who will pan out whereas maybe netiher of our first two-three willl.

The kids are athletes, which I like because I think within that you can piece them to where you need them most.
