Official 2023 San Francisco Giants Off-Season Thread - Jung Hoo Lee signs with SF 6-years $113 Million

^Epstein has got a plan in place, they're not done over in CHI. Plus, he's gets to be the face of the franchise there. No one is unseating Madbum and Posey as the faces of the franchise here.

I'm shocked we went 7/168. At that price, I'm a little relieved he turned us down.

Now where does all this unspent money go??

Opposite of making the farm better, Hamels? He's at $23.5M for each of the next 4 years (Age 34) with a team/vesting option in 2019. We've done work with Philly before, but I'm not sure what we have in the farm to give up.

We dont have the necessary prospects to land him.  At least based on what I have read, the Phillies want a ridiculous haul for him.  We dont have the ammunition.

Glad we have stayed away from the bad contracts but I don't want to get caught playing musical chairs and being left without a seat.

But we have nobody at 3rd or LF. I don't want blanco out there in LF. We saw that in 2013 :x

I could see us making a move tomorrow for a starter or 3rd basemen.

James Shields and Asdrubal Cabrera seem to be the top players being talked about.

I hope we can get Shields. But I've haven't heard too many rumors or anything about him lately.

It's been real, Mike Morse. 2 year $8M with Marlins.

Thanks for the short-lived but will always be appreciated memories.

Perez and Arias

On a side note, is Angel Villalona ever gonna do anything for us?

Been keeping tabs on him since they first signed him when he was like 16. Looks like he never got charged with shooting that guy.

Nah, I think Villalona spent the last couple years in AA barely hitting .230. Doesn't look like he's gonna pan out for us.

huge move. FINALLY!

The Giants' offseason has been pretty quiet so far. They bid on several high-priced free agents, including Pablo Sandoval and Jon Lester, but came up short.

On Tuesday, they reportedly made a small move that could have an impact on their bullpen in 2015.

Relief pitcher Curtis Partch signed a minor league deal with the Giants, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The 27-year-old Merced-native had been in the Cincinnati organization since he was drafted by the Reds in the 26th round of the 2007 MLB Draft.

Partch made 20 relief appearances for the Reds over the last two seasons, compiling a 4.75 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 30.1 innings pitched.

In six total appearances in 2014, Partch did not allow a run over seven innings pitched.

The Giants drafted Partch out of Merced High School in the 49th round of the 2005 draft, but he did not sign.

I usually scroll from the bottom of the page up and I seriously thought we had just signed Shields.
