Official 2023 San Francisco Giants Off-Season Thread - Jung Hoo Lee signs with SF 6-years $113 Million

When Romo uttered the words "during my tenure as a Giant" in a locker room interview just moments after we won the World Series, that told me he is as good as gone.

I know a lot of you guys are down on Strickland, but this dude can easily take Romo's ROOGY role in the future.

He needs to work with Rags and Gardner and develop another pitch or two(2-seam and/or a slider), but this guy has potential to be nasty as hell. maybe he has them in his arsenal but they're playing it safe with him since hes fresh off tommy john surgery.

the potential is there and just needs to be refined.

* If Pablo isn't resigned I expect a sold #3 starter.
*If Pablo is resigned I can role with 2 of the above starting.

Petit, In the perfect world I'd love to see him keep his bullpen role.

I'm fine with Romo leaving.

This will be an interesting offseason for sure. Who do you guys want for our bench? To me only Susac has a definite spot and the remaining spots are up for grabs.

 I like the Duffman.

Good utility player off the bench.

I don't mind Romo leaving. Like him as a person, not so much as a player.

If Strick can add another pitch or two to his repertoire :wow:

Are we still advancing to the NLDS?

Talked to Sandoval’s agent, Gustavo Vasquez. Sandoval wants at least 6 years. At 28, length of deal more important than last $. #SFGiants

It's disheartening knowing the money the team makes and they still don't spend it right.

how should they spend it then?

Uhhh....lets see here.....

How about not spending $18M on Tim Lincecum?

How about not spending $10M on Angel Pagan?

How about not spending $7M on Marco Scutaro?

Thats $35M right there spent on useless players. Thats not even counting the $18M we were still paying Barry Zito this past year.

Look, I said i wouldnt knock brian Sabean ever again after bringing us three titles in the last five years, but you cant tell me that he has been spending ALL money correctly.

Fact of the matter is, no matter how much they say it was, it was absolutely NOT a baseball decision to bring back Lincecum. So with that being said, I do not see why we wouldnt give Pablo close to what he wants. Signing him would be just as big of a PR move as it was signing Timmy....only difference is Pablo is still producing at a high level.

Wait, we were still paying Zeets? Thought it was an option that wasn't picked up nor could it be exercised because it didn't meet certain criteria?

I agree with you on Lincecum but Pagan & Scutaro's deals was because they won the WS in 2012. Scutaro was killing the ball nobody saw that he was going to go down like this.

Agreed for most part that money hasn't been spent wisely by Sabean over the last few years but this awkward moment when we just won the World Series last week and we're already on the topic of flaming Sabean
