"Affeldt said he's aware B.League got $7.1m x 3 yrs. "There's a market established." If he doesn't re-sign, said he will cherish SF memories" per @CSNBAGGS

Dope pics dland.

I stayed home and caught it on TV. I died when Affeldt got played ...

would suck to lose affeldt. but i hope they dont rush n try to sign these dudes to crazy contracts or end up with rowand/huff type of scenario where they're just getting paid to stink it up. scutaro is 37. and theres other players available in free agency.

No way. They learned after Torres and Ross not to sign guys long term if they're not envisioned as part of the core.

Pagan won't get more than a 3 year tender. 4 maybe. Thats what scares me, it wont be the Giants to offer some crazy lucrative deal but someone is going to overpay and we'll lose Pagan that way. Scutaro would be a stretch at 3 years so whatever offer is made to him by the FO I think he'll accept it.

I think there is some team out there that will offer Pagan a big contract. One that far exceeds his worth. I can see a team offering him around $12M a year. If thats the case, we need to take that $12M, add a little more money to it, and go after Michael Bourn.

Affeldt is very good, but I am not giving him the absurd amount that LA just gave Brandon League. Not a chance in hell. If he wants a 3-$15M...bring him back. Anything more than that is ridiculous.

Scutaro should be back, and I would sign him to roughly the same contract we gave Freddie after the World Series....somewhere in the 2-$12M range.

That projected arbitration number for Wilson seems ridiculous to me. $8.5M for someone coming off his second TJ surgery? Theres no way an arbitrator gives him that. No shot.

Pagan wants Rowand money. I just hope they don't give it to him. When he's hot - he's hot, but he can cool down like nobody else.

Those ******g Dodgers giving League a Brinks truck and now Affeldt wants the same. :smh:

I wouldn't mind Melky back.

Grady Sizemore is still young. Does he have one more run left in him? :nerd:

Can't forget about Gary Brown waiting in the wings.

Melky Cabrera
Freddy Sanchez
Xavier Nady

Guillermo Mota

Jeremy Affeldt 3-15M 3-17M

Angel Pagan- I'm think somewhere in the 8-10 range for three years.

Marco Scutaro- Give him what he wants. (2- 16M) I think he made 6M this season.

I think Melky is of of the question. Even if he comes super cheap which he should. I could see some one overpaying based on the fact that there isn't a lot of outfield help out there unless you want to break the bank on Bourn, Hamilton or Upton.

How can we kick Pence to the curb?

That's a lot of money coming off the books, LB. We have a pretty good chance at retaining our top FA. Just not too thrilled if we have to overspend to do it.

Also, Lincecum's arbitration is up after next season and we know he was looking to get a deal around the $20 million range. My question is, if he doesn't return to form next year and he's relegated to bullpen duty again what are the chances we lose him? There's not a a reliever in the world worth that money, I don't care if you are a prime Mariano Rivera.

If he struggles again as a starter, then I am pretty sure he's gone. I think he rebounds next year, though. Dude wants to cash in.

A few things:

-I agree with your first list. See you later guys. Thank you Freddy and Aubrey for 2010. But we are done there.

-I agree Affeldt is worth around $5-6M a year. Dodgers may have ****** us here. League is making $7.5M and is not as good as Affeldt.

-Pagan will get more than 3 for 24 from another team. You can bet on that. I like Pagan a lot, but I dont want to overspend for him. He is a streaky hitter, and played much better defense this year than ever in his career. If we are stuck with a big contract for a guy who doesnt historically play great defense, I wont be happy. I agree with your numbers being what I want to give him, I just dont see him taking that personally.

-I agree with your sentiments about Scutaro, but I wouldnt give him "whatever he wants." 2 for 12-14 seems right to me.

-I would love to have Melky back, but I just dont see it happening. I am not sure I want Blanco as our everyday LFer, but I love Blanco as our 4th OF.

-I'm confused about your last statement about kicking Pence to the curb. I know you arent saying we should, but I dont even understand the idea. Hes under our control for next year. So why is this even brought up? By the way, I fully expect Pence to have a monster season next year (.285, 25Hr, 95 RBI)

Grady Sizemore is still young. Does he have one more run left in him? :nerd:

Hell no to Sizemore. Theres no point.

And call me the eternal pessimist, but I dont think Gary Brown will ever be that good. When a player is drafted out of college (especially drafted HIGH out of college), there is a reasonable expectation that he is very close to being MLB ready. You have played 3-4 years at a high level, and are typically in your early 20s. Brown was drafted out of college, and has already spent three seasons in the minor leagues and cant even crack AAA?

I pray that I am wrong here, but I think that fact alone speaks volumes about how good he is going to be. He didnt even play great in AA last year. He is 6 years out of high school now. This will be a very telling year for him. If he hovers around .270 again, I would be SHOCKED if he is every a productive Major Leaguer, let alone being a future star like our organization thinks he will be.

- Pagan 4 yr-50 mil? Man, I LOVED Pagan this year, but **** that's alot of cash tied up to a streaky player. Somebody is definitely going to overpay for his services...

- Wouldn't mind having Melky back

San Francisco Giants
Let’s Play That Number

CF #1 2012 .246/28/78 with 31SB
CF#2 2012 .274/9/57 with 42 SB
CF#3 2012 .288/8/56 with 29 SB

Those are what I believe not name Josh Hamilton the best 3 CF that is in a free agent market this year. If you have your choice who would you pick? I know the stats is bare minimum with this day and age of sabermetrics but I think it’s a fun game to play.

ill post more later my thoughts are all over the place because of the football game ha ha ha
