Official 2023 San Francisco Giants Off-Season Thread - Jung Hoo Lee signs with SF 6-years $113 Million

i was at that game! i remember thinking i knew barry was about to go yard on this fool. it was like the battle of the super mutants. :smokin

Can already see that we would lose this game when we could not win it in the bottom of the 9th. Blowing those opportunities always seems to end with an L.

your telling me all this time belt's problem was his grip? dude has been raking ever since they "fixed" his grip. ill believe it when he sustains this for a year but i mean the guys always had the potential he absolutely KILLED it in triple A for years but the giants produce so many four A players hard to give them the benefit of the doubt. :smh:

I think Schulman wrote this to Dland on twitter: I'm not answering anymore Brett Pill questions. It's clear that the #sfgiants
don't see him as an everyday player, and nobody I've talked to inside or outside the organization feels he can play any position besides first base at the big-league level. This winter will be put-up or shut-up time for the team. They either have to keep him on the 40-man roster from then on because he is out of options. If they want his 40-man spot they'll have to waive him, and if he goes to another team, the world will see if the Giants were right or wrong about him.

LOL.  No he wasnt talking to me.  As far as Pill goes, I am not some huge Brett Pill fan.  I do like seeing long time minor leaguers get the opportunity though.

The bottom line is, since Aubrey Huff's magical 2010 season, we have gotten virtually nothing out of first base.  First base is a power position.  Since 2010, you would be hard pressed to find other Major League teams that have gotten less production out of first base than we have.  Belt has gotten plenty of opportunities, and up until about a week or so ago, has not proven that he can be the guy.  Maybe that will change now with his mechanical adjustments.  But all I ever really wanted was more out of first base than we were getting.  If Belt can be the guy who gives us more than we've gotten, fine.  If its Pill, thats fine too.  I will root for whoever it is.  I just never really thought Belt was capable of being that guy....which is why I always wanted Pill to get the opportunity.

Last night's game, was very fun to watch...albeit frustrating as hell too.  I am not the type of fan that wont watch when we are doing poorly....but I am the type of fan that wont watch bad baseball.  When the Giants play like ****, I turn the game off.  For some reason I didnt yesterday, in spite of how we were playing. Too bad we couldnt come all the way back.

Its nice to see Panda with a 3 hit game though.

:x belt again

Best thing that could come out of this terrible year is Belt finally puts it all together going into next season.
