Official 2023 San Francisco Giants Off-Season Thread - Jung Hoo Lee signs with SF 6-years $113 Million

Edit: found it

That beanie is nice. Might pickup some stuff from adapt tomorrow if they aren't sold out.

Qualifying offer is only to ensure a draft pick in case Pablo signs elsewhere; he without a doubt wont take it.

Aside from Pablo, I really hope we resign Morse, even if its for a limited role. Dude was so clutch in the playoffs off the bench and this team is already power deficient as is. Not to mention he loved being a Giant.

He ain't accepting.

His market value will exceed. I know it was previously posted, but who are the 3B FA's? It's a thin list...

Pablo isn't accepting a qualifying offer.  LOL

I think Pablo is going to get massive offers from Boston, New York and the Smurfs.  In my opinion, the only way he re-signs with us is if we offer a contract to Pablo with the same amount of years, and come within 8 or so million dollars of the top offer.  I think Pablo would take a little less to stay with us, but not a massive hometown discount.  (i.e. He would accept 5/$95M with us opposed to 5/$100-$105 elsewhere).

If Pablo takes BOS or NY, he's going to have a rude awakening when he's hitting .213 in the middle of the year during a slump.

I can cope w/ Pablo, his weight and low BA as long as he's not losing ground at 3b as a result...and his Oct production is what it is... :smokin

I'd go 6 years 100M for pablo. you know AL teams are gonna be willing to go 6 years on him.

Still not sure how I feel about resigning Morse. His defense and inconsistency at the plate kill me.

I would like to see Romo back, but I know he'll get better offers elsewhere. Especially if he wants to close. But relievers can be easily replaceable.

I really wanted to see Peavy back, but i'm not sure sure after his last 3 starts in the postseason.

It would be nice to have Vogey back, but I'd like for us to get a legit 3rd starter with Hudson in the 4th spot and Peavy/Vogey as the 5th starter.

Don't forget we're getting Matt Cain back. He might not be in 2012 form, but I think he'll be a good #2.

I don't want Peavy back at $15mm.

What LF's are around?

I'd give Ryan a 1 year deal as a 5th start hoping we could upgrade otherwise. I mean what are they going to do with Timmy - only pitch him against the Padres?

Panda could get an extra year by the AL for sure since they can DH him.

^ Peavy aint getting 15m anywhere. I think there was an option, but that was nullified with the trade.

I'd got 2 yr 17m for peavy

This is where the Wheeler deal hurts. Now that we can look towards 2015, our rotation is Bumgarner with 4 questions after. If we do sign Pablo will we even have enough to sign a solid #3?

I think our starting rotation will go:

Madison Bumgarner

Matt Cain

Tim Hudson

Yusmeiro Petit

Free Agent/Crick if he is ready/Vogelsong or Lincecum

I dont think it is a great rotation by any means, but I think it would be no worse than what we threw out there this year.

I dont see Crick being ready until mid-season at the very least. He had 61 walks in 90 innings last year in AA. Looks like his control looks like it need alot of work.

I would prefer to see Petit still be a long-man, since thats where he's performed best. But where does that leave Timmy? Not sure they can, in good faith, have him in the rotation next year.

I can see us bringing back Vogelsong for 1 more season

-Id like to see Morse back as well
-Romo got alot of heat from us this season but he was lights out last month of the season and playoffs. hope he re-signs
