Official 2023 San Francisco Giants Off-Season Thread - Jung Hoo Lee signs with SF 6-years $113 Million

I think because he got sick so early he's put a lot of pressure on himself because of his good spring. He's pressing out there.

i just don't understand how someone can be so good during spring....be so terrible during the reg. season.

Belt -- another case of AAAA?

Perennial Cactus League MVP candidate, that doesnt translate into the regular season. This guy is the human rally killer. The worst thing about this guy is not the fact that he cant hit a lick....its the fact that hes not even playing good defense this year. He has whiffed on easy balls in the dirt, has bobbled 2 easy double play balls that would have ended innings....if he's not going to play defense, theres really no need to have him out there at all.

I hope he turns it around on both the hitting and the defense. I want to like this guy so bad. But he has shown nothing to me outside of solid defense that he warrants starting on a major league team.

Just got bak from the game. Ended up getting the snow globe but like Jumpman said the line was way longer than I expected. Got there at 4:30 and lined up along the right field wall.

On to the game, great comeback but I do not know who pissed me off more, Timmy or Belt. I'm leaning toward Belt cause my expectations for Tim have dropped so much that I expect to be frustrated with his lack of command, but Belt my goodness! Twice he was up with situations that could have widened the game and he fails miserably both times. My patience with him is running razor thin right now.

Would be really nice to complete the sweep after losing 2 of 3 to the Cardinals. Two soft tossing lefties pitching today.

Belt is another freaken John bowker.

I'd say at this point, calling Belt John Bowker is being generous. At least Bowker was a power threat. On average, Bowker hit a homerun every 23 at bats. So far, Belt has hit one every 39 at bats.

So if we do the math, hopefully I'm doing it right,

(162 gms / 1 season) x (4 at bats / 1 game) x (1 home run / 39 at bats) = 16-17 home runs every year if he played every single game. Not too impressive for a guy as highly touted as Belt has been.

(110 games / 1 season) x (4 at bats / 1 game) x (1 home run / 39 at bats) = 11 home runs per year

Belt is supposed to be our superstar 1st baseman? :x
