Watched the new episode of Rebels at midnight earlier. Loved the ending action sequence.

Another two week break though :smh:

the first few minutes are really interesting...

I can believe they never met but it's clear Ben had a feeling who she was once the Skywalker saber came to her through the force. He would've met a sister he had but if his master was forbidden from falling in love...and having children...and he did have a child...and broke Jedi laws....and the child was hidden....and Kylo became upset...because his master broke sacred rules he preached....and their was another heir to Skywalker legacy.....which caused him to turn on his master and his teachings....

That "it is you!" makes a lot more sense...

The 2 grandchildren of Darth Vader. One from each of his children, Luke and Leia. One arrogant full of pride, like Anakin. One innocent and optimistic like Anakin. Which side of his legacy prevails. The battle of light and dark isn't just fought within the galaxy, but now within the Skywalker family.

Yup, I solved it.

Gonna be on the computer like a hawk. I'm hoping sites don't crash like last year and everything goes smooth. Anybody know what time we're looking at for the release?
Was it ever confirmed for today?  I just double checked all of the SW social media accounts to see if I missed something, and there's no mention of the ticket presale date.

Last year, it was known a week or two in advance that they were going on sale after the new trailer was shown during MNF.

Never confirmed, Star Wars News Net hinted at it from other reports but nothing was ever officially confirmed. Looking like they're gonna wait until the last minute.

It's really odd to see them wait this long. Must be some major concerns over sales

What!?!??!?!!?!

You guys realize you're wondering why they aren't PRE selling movie tickets for a film due out in FIVE WEEKS? You equate that to worry over sales?????

It's going to make 500 million domestic, on the LOW side. It'll clear over a billion, worldwide, easy. They aren't worried because they aren't selling duckets an extra 3-4 days earlier than people would like.

They simply learned from last year how much time they need and what helps the theaters the most. Word of mouth is huge, the toys are huge, the theaters are already pumping them with popcorn buckets and cups and extra previews, etc, the movie and its sales will be fine. Relax.

I don't doubt that the movie will be a success. But I do find it strange how little hype they have been generating for this movie. I mean, diehard Star Wars fans have known about this movie ever since it was first announced. But plenty of casual fans still don't know much about it.

For instance, I told one of my coworkers, who even says she likes Star Wars, about Rogue One a week after the 2nd full trailer came out. I showed her the Teaser Trailer and Trailers 1 & 2 on my phone, and while she thought those looked good, she didn't even seem to be aware that there was another Star Wars movie coming out besides Episode 8 before I showed her.

It almost seems like they're trying to sneak this movie by on the DL... I guess Disney's marketing team must've determined that there's no benefit to more early advertisements than what they've had, and they're just saving their advertising money until the last minute. It's the opposite approach compared to what we saw with the prequels, for instance.

Tickets for episode 8 went on sale in like October right? Just checking for comparison reasons. I thought movie tickets went on sale WAY in advance.

It does feel like they've kept the marketing budget on the low side to maximize profits. The movie is going to make a ton of money without a doubt, but they definitely aren't spending a ton promoting it.

Rouge one doesn't have to do a fraction of the legwork force awakens had to this isn't 30 years later for our characters or 10 years since the last film rouge one commercials run on tv constantly they got all the product commercials out too but the lack of pre sale tickets makes me wonder if this is a one off or how they'll market episode 8 as well it's not like they need to do all that extra promotion every year

Yes, late October. For the first film release in a decade.

This is literally 11 months later.

They are doing things different because it's not the "first one in forever" anymore.

Look how they are taking out the Crawl. That's for the 1-9 films, the spinoffs are being treated differently.

Are they spending "less" on Rogue One? Maybe. But the marketing is still HUGE. Toys, books, cartoon tie ins ( :nerd: ) theaters already selling merch type stuff, multiple preview releases, special previews (Dr Strange had a special preview, then the other previews) and we're still 5 weeks away. They are marketing a ton, just not as much as Ep 7, because that was the starting point for bringing Star Wars back to life. That doesn't mean there's concern over the film, or over the money, etc. Just like the 40%ers that bought all that bogus BS about half the film being re-shot in June.

Episode 7 needed less marketing than this movie does. Casual fans will not be seeing this movie multiple times like they did TFA, and they will still make a grip.

I disagree.

Episode 7 needed huge marketing considering the prequel mess and considering the long absence of Star Wars from the casual fan.

10 years demands huge marketing, they had to get movie #1 off to a fast start. And the large gap in films means you have to generate hype.

Movie a year from now on means less need, but it's still marketing pretty well.
