Would have been crazy if they had anakin kill mace instead of palpatine

Jedi council woulda been like what??? This ***** the real deal right here

What I would like to know is who is the real "Chosen One" Luke or Anakin and why?

What I would like to know is who is the real "Chosen One" Luke or Anakin and why?

According to Lucas Anakin because he was conceived by the Midichlorians (really as a part of Dark Plagueis' machinations), extinguished the Sith and brought balance to the force despite committing or being conplicit in Hitler-like atrocities for 20 years

As opposed to Luke who proved himself to be a decent human being and not a whiny child throughout his entire Jedi career despite going through just as much tragedy as his father

I like phantom menace for sentimental reasons it's the first film I ever remember my dad taking me to go see (born in 1995)
Honestly maybe cause I saw the films 1,2,4,5,3,6 as a kid I never noticed others thought they were bad I just thought each episode got progressively better.

Yeah, it's technically Anakin who brought balance back by being the one who actually killed the emperor.

So Marvel Unlimited got a free month going for signing up and they got a few SW comics, which one would you guys suggest reading first? I want to start with the must reads. Any suggestions?

Pretty weird, person after person, after person, no one praising the prequels. But we are the minority.

That said, I completely did enjoy Palpatine and his manipulation of everything.
Absolutely agree.

That part is for kids tho, right? :nerd:

This issue with that is, its SUPPOSED to be Anakin Skywalker's story, yet he's overshadowed big time.

This story, of cinema's greatest villain of all time, Darth Vader/Anakin, and who exactly did Anakin kill in THREE movies???????

Random Sand People, an 82 year old man, and a bunch of kids.

Obi Wan tells the story in 1977, Vader betrayed, and murdered your father. They hunted down and destroyed the Jedi.

15 years later, he has clones kill the Jedi, and the only Jedi Anakin faces kicks the **** outta him. :smh:

"Anakin's story"

:smh:

He kills a few nobodies, upstaged by Palpatine, gets his *** kicked by Obi Wan, and turns to the dark side cuz of some nightmares. Darth, *******, Vader.

George gives us Maul. Kills him after 15 minutes of screen time. Jar Jar Binks gets over 2 hours across 3 films.

Creates this born of the force Anakin, yet a Jedi master can't sense him standing right by him, needs a blood sample. These are just lazy, stupid plot points and filler. Born of the force, but a MASTER can't sense him for miles. Come on.

Palpatines plan was so great, he knew an 8 year old would destroy his blockade. .......

Mighty, mighty, mighty Jedi order. Killed by clones. I'm supposed to be ok with that. Luke wasn't even a fully trained Jedi, took down Jabba's entire network. The force allows them to sense danger, deflect blasters, trained warriors, Luke wasn't even fully prepped.
The entire order, well trained, dozens of masters, killed in a 3 minute montage.

The guy had three ******* movies. 9 hours worth of screen time. Anakin was dark for 25 minutes, long enough to get his *** handed to him. Jedi order dead inside 5 minutes. Mexican jumping bean Yoda. Roger Roger droids. Gun Guns. So many God damn gun guns.

The story of Anakin.

The clone wars. Rise of Vader. Legendary stuff. Stuff that was built up over 20 years.

Lucas needed a group of others to create TWO different cartoon series to fill in as many blanks as possible. :smh:

Has nothing to do with what I wanted. Or me havin an open mind. I sat thru two pointless ****** movies before Sith finally reminded me that hey, George can do some things. He managed to salvage a decent close. But it was no where near enough.

The story of Anakin, on screen, over a decade of time to prep-polish a story, descent to the dark side, kills a few kids, and we're told, fill in the 18 year gap on your own. We won't show him hunting and killing Jedi. Use your imagination.

9 hours across 3 movies. But use your imagination for everything he foreshadowed in 19 God damned 77. ****

:smh:
You got some good points. Wish they would've shown more hunting Jedi, or give us another film after 3 haha

I pretty much agree with all that was said here. The prequels should've been way better which makes them all the more disappointing.

I read the prequel novels and found them WAY more entertaining than the movies. I will always give Lucas credit for the original trilogy and running a company that changed cinema.... but the prequels showed he has lost his touch. All the crappy changes to the og trilogy was the first clue, but the PT confirmed it. I still feel his heart wasn't in them and the only reason they were made is so he would have a trilogy his ex wife couldn't get a cut of.

The rumor that they used practically none of his ideas for EP VII just gives me more hope for the new series. Let Lucas count his money and continue making movies about wood fairy's or just enjoy retirement. I think he has earned it.

My goodness, between Ep. VII, Battlefront 3, and this below, I need to make sure I stay healthy to see all of this

2003 Clone Wars miniseries>>>>>>>>>>>Rebels

Why clutter up the continuity by making a midquel series with a bunch of new, yet somehow pivotal characters we don't see in the original trilogy?

Why not do what Tartakovsky did and make a cartoon that takes place between the previous trilogy and the upcoming one so that we can be familiar with the characters and events of Episode VII as it begins? A la Palpatine's kidnapping and Greivous' introduction? Or is this just an opportunity to milk the walking cash cow that is Darth Vader?

what your suggesting is a mini series but why do that if the books leading up to the movie is probably gonna do that rebels however takes place 5 years before a new hope and is about the forming of the rebel alliance it far enough time wise that they can do what they want and no be as constrained by the new film seeing as they're 35+ years apart
