no way man. if you ask most star wars fans that is the absolute best.

i don't get how and why ??? if anything the best should be episode VI and episode lll

Empire is BY FAR, the greatest film in the saga. For one, it has THEE most iconic line in the series, and one of the most in all of movie history. "I am your father" No other Star Wars film can match that moment.

On top of that, the addition of 4 more iconic characters, Yoda, Emperor, Lando and Boba Fett. :pimp:

Luke and Vader lightsaber duel. Some of the most iconic images in the saga.

View media item 1507651
Vader being an absolute savage killing his own men without lifting a finger.

Han in carbonite. "We would be honored, if you would join us" "I love you.......I know"

The planets of Hoth, and Dagobah, as well as cloud city.

AT-AT's.

Han and Leia's relationship.

Luke's Jedi training.

The darker tone, the more serious direction the saga took, the Empire doing exactly as it says, striking back at the rebellion, beating the hell out of it the entire movie.

The asteroid field/Falcon

IV started the universe, and gave us the first glimpse, but Empire upped the ante more than any other film has. Also, it is the least kid friendly of any of the 6, ie more mature/serious. Sith would come in 2nd on that.

Every movie, series that matters in movie history is based on how great the threat/villian is. Marvel has done great with their series, but everyone criticizes their lack of true villains. Then you see how the Joker does for a film. Or Vader, or Hannibal Lecture. When the bad guy(s) are truly evil/terrifying, the movie hits home more. When the bad guy is weak or boring, or uninteresting, the movie suffers. This film was the epitome of the bad guys beating the hell out of the heroes.

Don't get me wrong CP, I like V more than IV, I just think IV is a more complete film.

Anyway, time to lay in bed and continue watching Episode II.

Yessir!

Also it ended with the best cliffhanger I've ever seen from a film. I always feel like I have to watch VI right after.

Btw...
I felt astheyically that this was the best one out of them all (until VII comes out).

that luke vader fight was pure greatness

using lighting, character development and cinematography to build tension rather than cartoonish special effects

every move was calculated and had intention

all this star wars toys talk got me wanting to hunt down the damb "stand-walk" decal that fell off & disappeared from my og scout walker

its gonna be such a chore to obtain w/o spending way too much...alls i need is that one damb decal...and repro stickers are out of the question!

ESB and ROTJ fights were >>>>.

even with Luke's blindly swingin for the pinata style

The score that plays behind this makes the scene so much more powerful, it may just be the most emotional scene in the ENTIRE saga.

Just watched ESB and ROTJ yesterday and I agree with y'all wholeheartedly. Funny, I didn't even see those posts before doing so and felt the same way watching them.

My daughters were glued to their seats and asked to watch the new trailer right after it was over.

And of course like all kids, they loved the Ewoks.

The choir during the scene was god level. The whole sequence with Luke almost succumbing to the Dark Side and leading up to Vaders redemption is probably the best stuff out of the original trilogy.

Then Lucas had to ruin it by adding the ROTS "NOOO" into the redemption scene :smh: almost wanted to toss my blurays into the trash after that.

Yeah that scene was amazing

The ending of ESB (various other scenes in ESB) provided some of the best scores. The culmination of the empire really striking back, Han in freeze, and uncertainty and hope on the look of Luke and Leia's faces at the end, wow. I tear up at that scene every time

I'm afraid to even ask........what Noooooo is added into RotJ???? I assume that's one of his edits?

I wouldn't know because I won't watch that ****, I only watch the theatrical cuts.

I remember when Plo Koon had a yellow light saber :pimp:

They need to throw the Dark Saber in the new Trilogy somewhere.

I remember when people flipped their **** when you could have one in those starkiller games saying light can't be black blah blah, but the swords are actually plasma blades so it kinda can happen(so days some random scientist anyway )

Remember that silly "NOOOO" Vader lets out at the end of ROTS when he finds out Padme died?

GL thought it would be a good idea to add that into the scene in ROTJ when Vader decides to toss Sidious....

The Blurays are completely worthless...Waiting on Harmy to finish his 2.0 Despecialized editions.
