Im all for diversity in the star wars galaxy but the way they are forcing females into the canon is hilarious to me.

Like there was not one single female pilot in the original trilogy but in the shattered empire comic series as well as the other new canon they inserted female pilots everywhere into the story...... like you wasnt in the space shooting tie fighters like lando was in return of the jedi

Dont know if it was disney or george lucas request but it kinda feels like when george lucas went back and altered the original trilogy lol

I know they probably made rey the lead character due to the popularity of the hunger games

I'm pretty sure race is an issue with some, but I think the boycotting stems more so from fanatics that would not want another installment of this franchise. I remember going to see Phantom Menace as a kid & there was a small group of guys getting tickets for another movie that absolutely hated the fact that there was another Star Wars. They were reminiscing about when they had seen the original(s) & how they should have ended it there without saturating the name.

With Halloween just around the corner & Star Wars/Back to the Future costumes most likely in full force, I'd say the Captain Phasma costume will be abundant with most assuming that it is a male character.

Yeah, I'm seeing a lot of people on my IG feed with their son's in Phasma costumes. I've asked a couple of those parents if they knew who was playing the character. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but I was just curious

Agreed. I was looking for ideas & walk passed the costumes & saw that it was marketed for Boys & Adult Men. I actually love the armor & cape of Captain Phasma so I get it, but a lot of people will be under the impression that Captain Phasma was a male from previews & general first-impressions. My lady actually wants to do the whole "sexy" Boba Fett this year so I might switch it up & do Phasma for contrast. I saw the Rubie's costume in-person & it's pretty cheap for $60+ so I don't know yet.

Yeah, I don't mean to sound like a snob because the Rubies costumes are fine for people who just wanna be a character for Halloween, but I don't think their worth it but I also know that anything good costs, so I can't get mad about it.

But that's a dope idea for you and your lady to switch Boba/Phasma for Halloween. Very clever.

Definitely. Rubie's doesn't set the standard for costumes outside temporary Halloween outings/events, but they're workable with a few adjustments/alterations. Fortunately, my lady's costume just arrived today & it was just under $15 Shipped from BuyCostumes.com. Quality is alright, but the overall look is fine. As for Phasma, I'll come-up with something as the Rubie's version looks like a child's onesie.
