In an interview with reporter Hannah Litchfield, Cameron said of “The Force Awakens,” “George [Lucas] and I had a good conversation about it…I don’t want to say too much about the film as I have a lot of respect for J.J. Abrams.”

Guess Cameron sees it for the glorified rehash of Lucas' OG too

I dunno, maybe if I was a huge SW fan I'd be a bit let down too and less praiseworthy. Either way it being a rehash didn't matter to new fans and apparently this is what a good deal of the older fans wanted.

True. I was kinda underwhelmed by TFA after seeing it the first time, but even then I could easily see it was better than TPM and AotC. Right now I'd say it's my 4th-favorite SW movie:

I can't fathom anyone, ever, putting TFA under I-II. That's impossible.

Eh force awakens is "better" but it's not more memorable than ep1 or 2 imo. Like Garbage movies or not, Darth Maul vs Obi Wan and Qui Gonn was a lot more interesting than anything in TFA

First time I watched TFA I was like this is the greatest movie I've ever seen

By the third time I was pretty put off by the blatant and completely unnecessary New Hope rehash

The movie is visually pleasing but actually isn't all that in the grand scheme of Star Wars or even sci-fi.

Hell Guardians of the Galaxy was better.
