A new, official Star Wars infographic has revealed the updated canon for all upcoming movies, TV shows, books and video games within the franchise.

Last year, Disney and Lucasfilm announced a new continuity that would be replacing the "Expanded Universe" (long considered canon by fans) and other Star Wars related games and fiction. This new continuity would only include the six previous Star Wars films, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and any future Star Wars material that is licensed or produced by Disney and Lucasfilm. The following timeline is included in the Amazon preview for the upcoming paperback edition of Star Wars: A New Dawn, the novel which acts as a prequel to the Star Wars: Rebels TV series.

Only one book to bridge the 30 year gap? Lol wut?

No, over time they will likely go back in that era and fill in with various books/stories. Likely after everyone goes thru Ep 7 a few times, they can and will use pieces from those films, and then work backwards (and forwards) from there.

I cannot wait man i loved the first one.

Playing multiplayer and hearing "master skywalker has joined the battlefield" or "lord vader has joined the battlefield" always got me hyped

Just bought my autograph tickets for Celebration. Will be meeting Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Ian McDiarmid, Billy Dee Williams, Jeremy Bulloch, Ray Park, and Kenny Baker. :pimp:

Youre so lucky bro. This is going to be the best celebration yet. You going to try to make it to the JJ panel? Rumor is they will be showing either film footage or a new trailer. Also make sure to check out the panel with David Collins, he wlll be showing clips of Empire with the original score that John Williams did with music that was cut. David Collins is extremely knowledgeable about music and John Williams. Also check out the "Smugglers Gambit" live radio drama produced by Jimmy Mac. The Del Ray panel should be good too.

Oh yeah and the James Arnold Taylor panel he will be hosting..

The Ray Park panel.

And the Rebels season two premier with the cast. They will be showing the first two episodes.

They are also screening episodes 1-3 in 3D.

I hate you..

:frown:

Wish I could go to the celebration, but after just making a trip to Anaheim for Disneyland for the first time in 15 years and going all out, I just won't be able to afford this. I shall live vicariously through pictures posted in this thread of those who attend.

I'm super excited for it. The only big 'Star Wars' event I've ever been to was Star Wars in Concert at the Rose Garden, lol. All of the other Celebrations happened at bad times or on the other side of the country/world. For it to finally be in Anaheim again... :pimp:

The JAT panel starts about an hour into the Rebels season 2 premiere -- but there's no way I'm missing it. :pimp:

It's possible they could do something much like what they did in Furious 7 in terms of digitally making him younger for certain flashbacks.

But it could also simply mean a young boy, as Luke, young Luke, in that respect. We'll see.

HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS THREAD EXISTED?!?!?!?

I am so happy I found you guys

I am embracing the Star Wars talk in all its glory. I have plenty of catching up to do in this thread.

Who's been reading the canon books/comics? Thoughts so far?

So far, I'm liking the Darth Vader series more than the others, and currently going through Tarkin (audible), with Heir to the Jedi next and really looking forward to Lords of the Sith. I liked A New Dawn, albeit not much action but it was cool getting to know the characters backstories before Rebels.

ok ok, I'll stop rambling. My nerdgasm just exploded that I found this thread along with a few others haha
