One rumor is that they get it back after losing it for some reason, so you may be right.
And maybe Han doesn't make it at some point in the movie. It would make perfect sense for Han to die, was probably the main reason Ford came back was to see his Heroe get the death he always wanted.

Anakin is a force ghost so I'm sure Luke communicates with him so to Luke Anakin isn't really dead. He's part of the cosmic force now instead of the living force.
