Just finished Clone Wars series tonight. Personally, the series redeemed the prequel storyline and added a lot of depth. Part of me wishes that Star Wars was like a Game of Thrones story that is told over many episodes over the course of a number of years, if that makes sense.

I'm looking forward to watching the first season of Rebels and then getting caught up on season two. Can't wait for December :pimp:

Gonna watch the Rebels tomorrow at noon. They're replaying it. Was out and missed it too.

The animated series offer far more insight and expand on characters. The first clone wars short movies were amazing, especially Grievous.

It takes some time to get used to them because the style is for children but are definitely worth your time.

So who got arrested and for what?

Completely forgot about The Rebels episode but I guess I set up the DVR since its there  I've heard nothing but good things about it too so I can't wait to watch it later...

But now that Vader's there, this dude needs to show up and redeem himself already.

For those who can't seem to get into the animated series, I was the same exact way. I watched first few episodes of clone wars a while back and just gave up. Then after reading the reviews in this thread, I made sure I gave it a try, and now I love it.

Same with Rebels. The animation is even worse in rebels to me. But I watch more for the story, and I got used to the animation.

I recommend giving it a real shot lol

The animales series do start off very childish...ESPECIALLY Clone Wars with Jar Jar's antics, he is eventually phased out and comes back for a couple episodes later on. But do give them the chance, as the series becomes much more interesting with darker themes as the seasons progress. The last season is by far the darkest and is absolutely amazing.

You guys know how Anakin and Obi Wan supposedly had an amazing bond, that Anakin was the best pilot? Yeah, in the Clone Wars you really see this bloom and truly get to see the relationship between these two blossom into what we've been lead to believe from A New Hope and Revenge of the Sith.

Did you know Anakin had a padawan? Ahsoka Tano will become one of your favorites in the series. Her character starts out very childish as well, like the series, but over time she and the series "grow up".

You can skip those episodes with Jar Jar and the Shark people if it's too unbearable, ugh those suck..but I say just watch it all and bask in its glory.

Struggle through the rough patches of Clone Wars, you'll definitely be happy you did. Rebels as well, after about 5 episodes you'll really get into them. Reading A New Dawn may help you get into the Rebels series better, or reading it after watching Rebels season 1 will help you understand the past of two characters you came to love, as the books leads into what will become Season 1.

I promise you'll come back thanking this thread for forcing yourself to watch the lackluster first episodes of both series, and the random ones scattered throughout the series.

EDIT: Added a few things, there's far too much I want to say....JUST WATCH BOTH SERIES lmao

Although The Prequels do have a few redeeming qualities, I agree.

The character development, the material, and the story telling is superior from the films. Granted they had 120+ episodes to do so.
Which is why it's ok that there a few terrible episodes, there are plenty more that make up for them.

The original trilogy is still GOAT imo.

Agreed. Having more time always makes for better told stories. THE OG trilogy will always be GOAT, both in terms of story, effects and characters. Hopefully this new trilogy will do the same for this generation.

I'm very exciting for what is to come. I love how JJ is bringing back the essence of what Star Wars was...such as using practical effects with building sets, aircrafts, costumes etc. so stoked!

And just to say...just finished watching the new Rebels episode. MIND BLOWN. Love the conflict in it, and the awesome subtle-ish tie in to the Clone Wars animated series. This is by far my favorite Rebels episode. Can't wait for the season to begin.
