Eh black guys tend to either take Ls or not be THAT important to date in SW films. I mean there aren't a lot of black ppl in these movies to begin with.

Lando did his thing but was always getting caught up.

Mace Windu simply didn't have enough screen time and then died albeit by the big bad.

I haven't seen the movie to call it with Finn but I guess he's somewhere in the mix filling a few different roles.
 
YES!!!!!!!

I was able to get a ticket for tonight at 8:30.It was really simple to exchange my ticket from fandango.com that I bought for tomorrow at another movie theater for IMAX in my city.

I'll catch the IMAX screening another time on my second or 3rd viewing of the movie.

A lot of the Star Wars boards are trying to flip it that Rey may be a random person created by the force because of her ambiguous parentage but the film clearly leans toward her being a skywalker and Luke being her father. Luke looks at her as if he just saw his long lost daughter and Rey looks as if she's found her dad who just so happens to be the most powerful person in the galaxy.... Does it not make sense to anyone else that Darth Vader would have two descendants, one who is of the dark side and one who is of the light...

HUGE garbage story this movie has. So you mean to tell me while his sister out here getting at the first order everyday and han solo getting murked poor fin getting butchered and his supposed daughter having many chances to die ol coward boy luke on a rock hiding? lets be serious for a minute any other movie would have been ripped to shreds but because its jj and its star warsits getting a pass. no way in hell if your the baddest dude on the planet do you let that **** happen. ZERO. son let his students get mashed and his nephew get kidnapped and ol boy went to a rock to cry about it for 10 plus years??? come on now. USE THE FORCE LUKE. SOMETHING GOING WRONG. YOU CAN FEEL IT. YOUR BUDDY the one you owed alot to is in danger and gonna get murked by your student but you cant feel that? too busy crying in a cave? OK. force must not be that strong in luke to let that go down just a money grab for episode 8 teasing luke

naw man mace windu was a bad man... he had the emperor beat but ol child killer anakin had to whine and take a cheap shot at mace
 
In my theater auditorium. Non Reserved seating. But we got here early and have absolutely perfect seats. Still can't believe this is happening. Or that it's finally here. Feels like yesterday I was reading about all of the rumours and crazy Luke stuff. 3 hours :smokin
 
Bay Area NTers that live in the South Bay, there are plenty of showtimes left at Eastridge Mall. Seems like all the East San Jose goons have zero interest in Star Wars :lol: I'm visiting my parents in SJ tonight and am planning to hit up the movie after dinner :pimp:
 
How early are you guys showing up for non-reserved seats? I'm going to an 11:30pm show and figured 9 would be good.

The way Hollywood is, they'll never allow that to happen. He'll just be friendzoned and end up dying in ep IX. Now how he dies will be interesting. A lot of foreshadowing with him and a lightsaber...maybe a turn to the darkside? What if Rey's ultimate trial won't be killing her kinda ok in the force evil cousin, but killing her best friend and the one person that made her believe in herself..... Possibilities!!!

:lol: the brief Luke reveal at the end I knew would piss a lot of people off and I was pissed about it too but I now understand the purpose of it after hours of in depth convo. The movie left a lot of things vague on purpose but allows anyone with knowledge of Star Wars lore piece together what's going on and hopefully we are rewarded when the sequels get here. One of the ideas that have to be pieced together would be Rey being Luke's daughter but another one would have to be why Luke went missing. We last saw Luke as the triumphant hero and strongest/last remaining Jedi, 30 years later he's in hiding. Essentially doesn't want anything to do with the galaxy that was his destiny to protect. Why is that? Tragedy? Yeah, the young Jedi at the academy and his gifted nephew using his chosen powers for evil...but what else could he have lost? Maybe his significant other? He failed to protect her somehow maybe. Maybe it was Kylo and the knights of Ren fault she died, or maybe Luke had something personally to do with it. Maybe he flirted with the darks side and is afraid that it may consume him like it did his father. (Remeber Harrison Ford wanted Han to die in RotJ and Lucas chose against it but The writing team granted Ford's wish with this trilogy. Mark Hamil had a request for Luke to actually turn to the darkside in RotJ and Lucas turned it down for that film........) just my theory but I feel like Rey's mother has something to do with Luke's isolation as well as Rey's isolation. I can see a dying mother's request being for her only child, a daughter at that, not living a Jedi's life. I can see Luke having people place her in seclusion because it was too hard for him personally. I can see Luke giving his only daughter he hadn't seen in years a sad and heartbroken look because even when he's tried to keep her away she has still found him and cannot be kept away from her destiny. Skywalker bloodline, a gift and a curse.... :wow:
 
yea even tho thats a huge gripe of mine i cant say im not excited and will probably watch the movie atleast 5 times in theatres

Agreed that Hollywood will never let Finn / Rey happen. Remember that backlash Boyega got for being cast in this role? If they became a couple, imagine 100x worse.

But Daisy could have it all.
 
they did a great job with the casting. Adam Driver looks as though he could really be Harrison Ford's son already but to add more clout to the Rey being Luke's daughter angle Daisy Ridley looks as if she could be Mark Hamill's daughter
 
Just got home from work. Gonna fill the flask with that hen dog and head out to line up. Unreserved IMAX tickets so going old school line up styles.

And eff all these spoilers I ain't clicking nothing lol!!

The Darth Vader comic is really good. I wasn't the biggest fan of Gillen but when he' on he's on.

Those pics and some of the dialogue reminded me of something that had passed my mind about Vader before. He's obviously meant to be the badass menace of the OT and I get that if even he has a master then that guy must be even more evil but I always wondered why he didn't try to become emperor and take over the entire empire if he was the best with the force in the universe (obviously before Luke comes in to the picture). I'd assume going to the dark side would make him the best with the dark side but in the movies he's really just a high ranking enforcer doing Sidious' bidding
