At the factory stores, however, the training shoes will be slashed to $100 and $80. An $80 Nike+ Sport Kit, necessary to access the shoe's features, will be sold separately.

Also, with the NBA season about to begin and holidays approaching, Remuzzi said, the company chose to focus its efforts on selling Nike+ Basketball products and the LeBron X+.

"We are now amplifying all experiences and services around Nike+ Basketball," Remuzzi said in a written statement. "We are refining how consumers access Nike+ Basketball and creating elevated experiences at Nike retail and with our key partners. Sales of the Lebron X+, which allow users to experience Nike+ Basketball, have been strong to date."

Sales are strong because nike was smart to make the +model to have the limited colors over non plus. Because you know damn well ain't no one want to pay the extra cash to get the plus tech.

Glad the consumer had somewhat a voice in this thing not panning out how they planned. slashing prices was the only this stuff is going to sell. I have said it over and over again the people who actually are going to use this stuff to train competitvely are getting this stuff provided to them for free. For the recreational baller or weekend warrior this stuff is useless....

who didnt think this would be a fail? prices are outrageous.

I like the fact that they tried to incorporate the diff tech stuff. It's great.

But they were charging far too much for it. Like the guy said up there, it's for either true athletes or younger athletes trying to improve their game and find the novelty of it interesting. The first group gets it free and the latter can't afford it.

For the people who can afford it - the weekend warrior and rec baller - there's way too many other things - even other shoes - that they can waste money on.

I refuse to feed into the Nike + technology..I don't need to see how fast I run, how high I jump..etc. . . I could care less..plus the price point on the Nike + models are outrageous..

I liked the technology in the Hyperdunk 2012 but the system didn't work consistently often not syncing data for me.  As a casual rec player it was cool to see stats like vert and I felt like I played a little harder knowing that the data was being recorded.  Ultimately, I think the posters are right that the cost is too high.  Nike should take their $80 shoes and add the system and sell them for $150 without an athlete's name and they might sell better.  Or include it as enabled versions like the lebrons that cost $200 and put the sensors in the soles of every should to bring the costs of the system down, improve performance with more data and make the system more widely used.  Out of 100 guys I might play with in open gym games I'm positive I was the only 1 that had the system in their shoes.  Combine that with nearly half the ballers now rocking addidas and it doesn't look good for Nike in the Basketball market.

This is what happens when you place technology in an ugly shoe, look isnt everything, but it carries a great factor. Had the shoe not been so hideous, people would buy. We all have seen people buy way worse kicks just because of the name.

I knew Nike+ would fail. Lets be realistic Nike, not everybody is in training. It is utterly useless for guys like me.

You must have gotten a janky pair or you didn't do the updates cause I've never had a problem with my hyperdunks at all syncing up. I agree about the numbers of cats that had them though cause only me and my friend have the 250 ones at the gym. I like them as ball sneaks though.

I want to try these out but I can wait for them to hit outlets

Wundt be surprised to see them at outlets black friday

I was waiting for the blk/blu glow to drop down in price and all of a sudden they were all gone. I better see those at outlets soon.~

Heads up, they are appearing at some outlets.  I just picked up a pair at the outlets in Orange, CA for $119.  Bad news is, they are without the "+" factor -- there was a plastic insert where the bluetooth chip was supposed to be.  I didn't check on site when I bought them so I'm taking them back next weekend to inquire if it was a fluke or if they're all like that.  Unfortunately, I suspect it is the latter.  It's a shame, $120 seems like a pretty good price point -- now I just have a 2012 Hyperdunk with an extra piece of plastic.

yeah. It was confirmed that they took out the + parts to sell at regular price. If you really want the + stuff you can buy the sensor stuff for $60?

Are you guys talking about the black/photo blue/purple colorway that they used to market with the shoe along with the Nike + olympic colorway? If so what color is the box that they came in?

I'm pretty sure everybody talking about the pair Lebron had in that commercial during the playoffs which are the ones you are asking about. I have them and they come in a big black box but the ones at the outlet from the pic I saw in the hyperdunk thread the outlet ones come in a regular nike box. DT3030 like anhuynh16 said thats how they come but even mine I paid full price for comes with the two plastic pieces where the real ones are supposed to be.

Still trying to figure out what is going on here: It seems like that the shoe is selling like the LeBron $200 + enabled version, but you have to buy the kit if you want the technology. If that is wrong can someone steer us in the right direction.

so now they're just going to milk the trolls with the fuel band and the lebron X

this was a test for nike to see how much they really got consumers wrapped around their finger... now that they know, they'll devise something else to get yall hooked!

the hyperdunks and lunar tr1s are both at the outlets by me. the tr1s are $89.99 and the hyperdunks are $109.99. I still wouldn't buy either one.
