Keeping the simple, straight-forward approach that’s been used to build the Thunder franchise, general manager Sam Presti said the team’s alternate jersey was designed with the same thought process.

The jersey, which was revealed Thursday morning, is navy blue with white lettering and carries a clean, “Old School” appearance. The design was a collaborative effort by basketball operations, ownership and various team personnel.

“Our hope is that we created a uniform that our players and fans can connect with and that represents the blue collar, industrious nature of the people in Oklahoma ,” Presti said in a statement.

The “Thunder” lettering on the front right side of the jersey is vertical rather than horizontal for a reason.

“The vertical lettering, perhaps most importantly, acknowledges the city’s resiliency, it is very much inspired by the Survivor Tree at the Memorial,” Presti said. “The symbolism of the vertical letters serves as a reminder that the city has stood and endured together in difficult times and is poised to continue to grow and evolve in many ways in the future.”

The city also is represented on the shorts in three different ways – with an “OKC” on the right leg; the team logo on the left leg; and a cursive “Oklahoma City” on the back.

The Thunder will debut the alternate uniform at Friday’s 7 p.m. game against the Detroit Pistons at Chesapeake Energy Arena. OKC also will wear the alternate jersey for its New Year’s Eve game against the Phoenix Suns.

Because the NBA wants teams to wear their home uniform as much as possible, teams are allowed to wear their alternate uniform only twice at home during the regular season. However, teams are allowed to wear their alternate 10 times on the road.

The Thunder is scheduled to wear the alternate for the following road games this season: Brooklyn (Dec. 4); Minnesota (Dec. 20); Washington (Jan. 7); Dallas (Jan. 18); Los Angeles Lakers (Jan. 27); Utah (Feb. 12); Denver (March 1); San Antonio (March 11); Indiana (April 5); Golden State (April 11).

Alternate jerseys can be ordered on-line at NBAThunderShop.com and Thunder season-ticket members were given an advance opportunity to order the jerseys.

Swingman and replica alternate jerseys will go on sale Friday at 8 a.m. at the ThunderShops in Chesapeake Energy Arena and Leadership Square downtown. Shorts, caps and other merchandise using the alternate design will go on sale at a later date.

The swingman style jersey costs $110 and the replica style is $75. Multiple player jerseys will be available and jersey personalization is available at the arena ThunderShop.

To handle the anticipated traffic, there will be extended shop hours.

Chesapeake Energy Arena shop: Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (also during the Detroit game); Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday noon to 3 p.m. (also during the Cleveland game).

Leadership Square shop: Friday 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Here is the hat to match the new alternate unis. The emailed it to season ticket holders early and I get a discount on it, but I have a huge head and don't wear snapbacks. The strip of orange changes everything

Not feeling them really. They look very generic, not bad though. They should make some unis more orange maybe? Something different
post #11 of 436
Me neither, they are wearing them 2morrow at home against Detroit. I let some dude on CL lowball me on my ticket for $46 because I wasn't confident it was gonna sell on stubhub for even full face

Hey, this is 3 of us in Thunder fam who actually live in, or near, OKC. That's a record! Atrasta reps Thunder and Philly, but from the Bahamas.

If y'all trying to come to a game, I have Summit Box Suite tickets for April 4's Spurs game (I'm hosting 4 more but I already sold out) for $65. It includes a buffet, non alocholic drinks, an oncourt group photo postgame, and Blue Alliance (the Thunder official FB groups) T shirt. HMU, I haven;'t started collecting so I got 31 seats available.

NT OKC Summit! Speaking of which, either of you got connects in Footlocker, FootAction, etc. up there? I need those KD 5's in my life. I got a few dudes I know but not well enough for them to do me that favor.

We can make something happen. I'm in Edmond btw.

As for FL ect.. Connects, I know a guy who works at footlocker at quail but he's so shady and pretends like everything is top secret. Wouldn't waste my time with the young fella.

that will be tonight. They emailed me pics of the shooting shirts too. I wonder will they go white socks, white shoes with navy accents. Or black socks black shoes, or white socks, navy based shoes.

I have a standing offer with group sales to get that Feb 26 Bulls game, lower level 112ks for 76 each. I'd have to buy at least 12.

Orton aka big Westbrook is supposed to get minutes tonight in lieu of Thabeet

from the Thunder fb, not so sexy on fans

This team sucks, and it's amazing how very few people in the media or otherwise refuse to acknowledge it.

https://www.wepay.com/events/oklahoma-city-thunder-vs-san-antonio-spurs-thu-april-4-830pm Reserve your spot in the Summit Skybox 2 for the Apr 4 game vs the Spurs. We will have some type of gourmet sandwiches, unlimited drinks (soda/water) flowing, and I set up a post game on court photo, and free T shirts.

Westbrook is notoriously bad in November. I'm not worried. His game is beyond his stats anyways. Sometimes he is the best player out there even when he has 6tos. He competes, so I'm not mad.

Grizzlies tonight, I don't want to go but I haven't sold my ticket yet. Ever since ticketexchange moved to nbatickets.com, nobody buys anything on there. I guess I can go if I have to.

As much **** as I talk about Perk, this is one of his games where he can be useful and where our otherwise detrimental starting lineup makes sense. BHZ is sure he can now that he hulked up a bit, but Conley has never been able to guard Westbrook so we gotta bust his *** early and force Hollins to sub in his defenders like Bayless and Poindexter who put them at a disadvantage offensively.

I agree.

Perk should only be starting against 3 or 4 teams, max.

Good luck tonight guys. Looking forward to this game since the majority of our games are nail biters.

If Westbrook ends up being too much for Conley, I'm sure they'll just switch TA on to him. I also think Hollins would be open to using Conley to chase Maritn around as well. It use to be once Harden subbed in, Conley was useless on defense. Either way, I expect to see ALOT of Collison tonight if Brooks is smart. He seems to be the only big that can really battle Zbo down low.
Nah, Brooks has this rule where the better Collison plays, the less minutes he gets. See: NBA finals.
