So i just purchased a cbr 600.. i love its look. only thing is ive never ridden a motorcycle in my life, nor have i ever driven a standard. ( i hear its similar) is it tough to learn?? did i make a bad choice by picking a 600, should i have gone with a 250?? do you guys have any advice for new riders??

Heres pics..

lmk what you guys think.

tough bike man.
maybe this summer will finally be the one where i pick up my license.
been tryna get it for the last 2 years but never got around to it.. SMH.
i often hear 600 is too much for a first bike, esp if your personality is on the daring side.

Take the MSF course. You'll go from having zero knowledge about motorcycles, to a somewhat confident rider in 2 days.

Motorcycles aren't as complicated as they may seem. But there are things you ought to learn about them. The course is the best way to get a comprehensive overview of motorcycling and it does all of it in a short period of time.

all my friends who ride tell me that you get bored of the 250 super fast... so thats why i picked that one up.

i definitely will take that course

I bought a motorcycle and got it towed home without knowing how to ride one either, I just watched several YouTube vids and taught myself,. I still don't have a license

copped a bike without eem riding one?

never heard of that...

but its like riding a bicycle on steroids...

its similar to driving a stick...

how much did you pay?

i bought my first car without knowing how to drive, that way i could llearn when ever with whom ever instead of waiting for people to have time to take me in their car. But i suggest taking the msf classes, i just wrapped mine up 3 weeks ago and never rode a dirtbike/motorcycle before that but now i know all the basics except proper shifting time but ive been listening to/ feeling the engine while riding and it lets me know when to shift up and down so depending on your instructor you should be good

I've always wanted to cop a bike but the only thing holding me back is learning how to ride

im learning how to ride right now. I got a ninja 500, for the same reason you didnt get the 250. good luck and ride safe.

great pick up...

in NYC most cats first bike is a 600cc

go in an open area and learn the clutch, brakes and sounds of gears.. you'll be fine.

:smokinNice bike. I did the same exact thing last January. Never knew how to ride a bike, not even how to drive stick. Bought my 600 and had a buddy of mine teach me the basics. I also watched every vid in YouTube about learning to ride, and trust me, they really do help believe it or not. I took the MSF course 3 months after I got the bike making sure I got the feel for it before taking the course. Helps a lot having even a little experience riding before taking it. Good luck with it and be safe

Bikes...my fav subject..1st off u gotta cbr600 which is a great starter bike..i learned how to ride on dirtbikes i had as a kid so my 1st bike was an 1100cc..im an expert rider and as seen in my avy i have a repsol cbr1000 so that should tell u that the cbr u bought was a good choice..however the fairings on ur bike r obviously aftermarket and when a bike has aftermarket fairings theres a 99.9999999% chance the bikes been wrecked..the owner had no insurance to pay for stock fairings and ordered some generic plastics online..so congrats on the bike but be cautious for anything to break down on it

that's a ballsy move bro.. down here in Fla you have to have a motorcycle endorsement on your license... I've always wanted to get my endorsement, just haven't made the time and every time I say I'm gonna do it, I just come up with an excuse.  I'd love to have a bike, but damn the drivers down here are brutal with the way peeps be driving.. I'm not going to lie though, the same thing I curse at people for doing, I've done/do the same things.  Sooooo I'm guilty as well..
