5 Hour Energy Linked To Multiple Deaths

meh.
you can get killed crossing the street.
will be getting a monster to keep me awake tomorrow

A lot of you really have no idea how harmful energy drinks are for you. My neighbor died from drinking Monsters, so I know first hand how harmful these drinks are.

I haven't touched an energy drink, or caffeine(im sensitive to caffeine) in over 5 years. I'm sure one, once in a while wont harm you but they market these like they're cool and healthy to consume.

Just sayin, be careful.

What does that have to do with anything? Doesn't change the fact that energy drinks aren't good for you.

It means I dont make anomalies into regulations.

Some jumps of a building and lives - Still wont jump off buildings

Someone dies cuz of energy drinks - Still will continue to drink a monster a couple of weeks

I hope that answers your question.

I was just reading about a high schooler whose death was linked to them drinking monster. I myself have gotten heart palpitations from drinking 5 hour energy drinks so i fell back.

How many did he drink? sometimes I need those when I pull all nighters

caffeine pills > *

People spending $2-3 a drink are suckers, get a bottle of 100 tabs for $6

"A 2007 article in the UK's "Daily Mail" shows that the very high caffeine content of energy drinks, as well as a chemical called taurine, caused a spike of between 8 and 11 percent of the resting heart rate and blood pressure of study participants after drinking two energy drinks each day for a full week."

I really never drunk energy for this simple fact my friends told me a several years back before energy drinks got really popular. The can cause heart arrhythmia.

" An arrhythmia (ah-RITH-me-ah) is a problem with the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat. During an arrhythmia, the heart can beat too fast, too slow, or with an irregular rhythm.

A heartbeat that is too fast is called tachycardia (TAK-ih-KAR-de-ah). A heartbeat that is too slow is called bradycardia (bray-de-KAR-de-ah).

Most arrhythmias are harmless, but some can be serious or even life threatening. During an arrhythmia, the heart may not be able to pump enough blood to the body. Lack of blood flow can damage the brain, heart, and other organs."

People seem to be missing that in almost all of these cases, there was an underlying medical condition the person already had. Completely healthy, active adults are not dropping over from a 5 hour energy shot or a monster.

everything in this world will kill you

I hate stupid articles like this; I am sure I could find deaths caused by Snickers or Trident if I wanted to find it

used to be a rep for monster. drank like 3-5 a day for months. no harmful effects that i noticed, just neon piss

Water has also been linked to numerous deaths. We should probably stop drinking it.

Seriously, energy drinks are not inherently bad for you. If you ingest too much caffeine, you'll put yourself at risk. If you have a pre-existing condition that necessities minimal or no caffeine intake, don't be surprised when you get yourself in trouble because you drank 48 ounces of Monster.

But I'm sure these people had pre-existing heart conditions.  I think caffeine has it's plus IMO.  My grandfather drank coffee all day literally drank nothing else, and my dude was out doing yard work in the day and chasing **** at night at the age of 78.  Then he got leukemia at 79 and it was a wrap, and he was dead by 80.   I think 5 hour energy is cool, but the carbonated ones are no good and have some kind of addictive ingredient in them besides caffeine.

One of my fire professors said he began having irregular heart palpitations from drinking monsters. He was drinking about 3-5 a day. Doctor said it was a combination of the sleep deprivation, stress from his job, and the abuse of energy drinks. I have to agree a healthy adult will not be at risk from drinking a monster a day.

SON...

...I used to cop a 6 pack of Red Bull to stay awake studyin' - piss lookin' like Air Max 95s.

When I was studyin' for the bar that Extra Strength 5 Hour was my Blue Magic...

Ahh statistics, energy drinks can cause death. Can you point out the dependent and independent variable. I don't like how the information is provided, what type of tests were ran on those that died, eating habits, exercise, weight, age, previous health issues. Too many variables, show me better correlation.
