Jack Taylor of Grinnell scored 138 points Tuesday night to set an NCAA all-division record for points in a game.
Taylor, a sophomore guard, made 52 of 108 field goals, including 27 three-pointers for the Pioneers. He also made 7 of 10 free throws as Grinnell defeated Faith Baptist Bible 179-104.
Taylor had scored 47 points combined in his team's first two games.
The previous scoring record was 113 points by Bevo Francis for Rio Grande against Hillsdale in 1954. Francis scored 116 in a game in 1953 under the NAIA.
Another Grinnell player, Griffin Lentsch, set the Division III scoring mark last year, scoring 89 in a 145-97 rout of Principia.
