you cant show me a better resume than that. scoring wise.

cant count centers if your gonna try and mention Wilt..

Iverson has similarly impressive scoring feats....5 consecutive 40 point games AS A ROOKIE, 55 point playoff game, etc.

Several other players as well.

Jordan and Wilt's scoring feats obliterate that list.

And I acknowledged that he's a great scorer, he's not the best at that either though.

Don't some of you ever get tired of arguing (trolling even) about the same thing over and over and over?

I have it similar names in my top 8.

But specific order
1. MJ
2. Magic
3. Bird
4. Kareem
5. Russell
6. Kobe
7. Chamberlain
8. Duncan

I can feel this, out of all the greatest players ever its ridiculous to say Kobe is in the top five. Maybe top 10 tho, it may be a reach but maybe. But Kobe is Kobe so you must respect his game.

Okay, maybe you overdid the thread title Golden. It screams out Kobe Hater. That could be why some people are livid about this thread.

I think Kobe is the 2nd greatest SG. Is he in my top 10 overall? Yea, maybe. Is he above Duncan or Shaq? No. If I was starting a franchise I rather have built one up with Shaq or Duncan first.

I think Kobe is the 3rd greatest player of our generation (after Jordan era). LeBron is creeping up, at 4th. No matter what I think tho, you can still put up an argument for Kobe which goes to show that he's still one of the greatest ever.

Fixed. a regular season mvp with a chip and another finals mvp puts him past chamberlin. Also , kobe will not be the best laker of all time until he averages 18,9,9. Magic did that in 81-82.

Wilt Obliterates every list but not Jordan. He never went above 69 points and never had 4 straight 50 point games.

No people are saying your trolling for calling him overated....saying he's not top 5 is reasonable, saying he's not even top 15 isn't

Word. People swear that once u dispute comments like "kobe is the goat " or "right behind mj" arguement, your a lebron lover and kobe hater. Why cant you be just an objective basketball connoisseur who simply appreciates all facets of the game?

i feel kobe was better when he was cheating on his wife with younger girls, i need that kobe back, thats the kobe i know and love

Kobe wasn't necessarily better, but he had to score more since his team sucked back then.

Puts him past Chamberlain because despite being called dominant he lost 6 finals.

As for Magic. Just my opinion, but

Being a better all-time player =/= Being best player for a Franchise. Kobe is a better Laker. But in terms of skill Magic is a better player.

OP hes the greatest robin of all time. Its not a bad thing. Just facts.

Shaq 3 finals MVP. kobe 2.

Plus TIM DUNCAN won 3 finals MVP and didnt need both them dudes to win.

Also in kobe's prime dude couldnt get out of the 1st round. Got beat by the suns and didint even make the playoffs that one year.

inb4 he needed help. BRON JAMES took mike brown and a team full of scrubs to the finals. But kobe needs all time great to ride to the moon.mean.gif

And dude is def not top 10. stop it/shaq

I wasn't specifically referring to you.

I'm just saying, if you've been on this forum long enough, you know this topic has come up enough times and the same people post in here with their same regurgitated stances.

I thought we as intellectual people moved past judging others based on their avatars, but I guess not. And you're looking at the wrong person if you think I'm one of those Kobe fans.

I'm no NBA historian, but he' probably in the 6-8 range, but there's time for him to move up. Personally, I don't care all that much at the moment where he ranks.

People crucify players like Iverson and Carmelo when they pretty much have the same impact on the game and flaws as Kobe.
He has been blessed with one of the most dominant big men ever, the greatest coach ever and in the second half of his career, close to and All-Star starting lineup....take all that away and he's just another All-NBA player, not a top 10 payer ever IMO.

What makes him individually, that much greater than say....Paul Pierce?

+1 duncan is highly underrated due to the lack of flash in his game. Efficiency rules in the long run.

Iverson and carmelo had the same impact as kobe? Lol really?
