NFL Week 12 In Review...

The Philadelphia Phillies have won a game more recently than the Eagles.

i get what you're saying, but say they rule correctly that he was down. who says yall stop us from scoring on the drive anyways?
excluding the forsett touchdown, we still rushed 27 times for 124 yards. that's 4.6 yards a carry, which is apparently mediorce :rolleyes
then lets look at how your offense got shut out in the 4th and overtime. is it the refs fault that in the 4th and overtime, the lions punted 4 times, fumbled once, and missed a field goal?
you still had opportunities to win the game, even with the blown call. and you didn't do it.
no, we didn't deserve that win. but the lions didn't do what it took to close it out. snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Lions blew many chances I can agree. 4-5 of the last drives including overtime stalled right around outside of field goal range. That is inexcusable especially with the playcalling. Scott Linehan has to be the WORST ******G OC in the league. His plays are trash 75% of the time. He has no basic plays to even gain a few yards, like the guy has never heard of trying to send a TE to the flats towards the sideline. The Lions run game was running all over the Texans for a bit, then it was non existent because he didn't call any run plays. This is how it has been all year with this damn team. I have never seen such a high powered talented offense be so pathetic due to poor play calling in my life. I need a break from football already, or at least the Lions. Really had high expectations this season. And the thing is I would rather us be getting blown out rather than watching close games that should be won, only to be lost because of ****** play calling.

It amazes me that people are realistically putting the ******** at the top of the chart of teams that could earn that last playoff spot. At 5 wins and with 5 games left they would either have to win out, or hope that the Seahawks and Bucs only win 2 or 3 of their last 5, which isn't happening. They have to play the Giants on MNF next week, then the Ravens, the Browns in Cleveland which can't be taken lightly and then finish off with two division games at Philly and against the Cowboys. If they do it then they earned every bit of it and not a single team in the NFC playoffs should wanna match up with them. But I highly doubt it's gonna happen. The funny thing is that these guys aren't even on a roll or anything to earn this type of talk. Before these past two weeks the ******** were on a 3 game losing streak which included a loss against the damn Panthers and a two TD loss against the Steelers.

Pardon my lack of knowledge on this particular subject, but why is Adderall a banned substance in the NFL? And why are so many players getting caught using it?

Y
Yet and still what's the record ? Getting the W's is the only thing that matters...I don't give a damn about these stylistic convincing wins that people sit and get hype over..hasn't been one game played that we were out of...

There's something to be said for knowing how to win close games...but I mean come on now :lol Most great teams, even ones that have been plagued by inconsistency like the Giants last year, have a few signature wins against other good teams that they can point to that show how dominant they can be when they put it all together. What can the Falcons point to, seriously? Their only convincing wins are the Chargers and the Eagles, not exactly murderer's row. The rest of their games have all been fairly close wins against mediocre-bad teams. They almost always play down to the level of their competition.

Just look at the spreads of their games every week; they have to be some of the lowest spreads ever for a team with a record that good this late in the season. Nobody's saying they aren't good cus they obviously are, and you can definitely make your own luck, but even aside from that they have been very fortunate. Usually those bounces even out over the course of the season. Look at how the Cardinals started out this year and how they have regressed to the mean after the 3-1 start. To me the Falcons are a good team that is dangerous come playoff time, but not a dominant 10-1 team like their record would indicate. You play those same 11 games 10 times over and I think more often than not they're gonna come out 7-4 or 8-3.

Buc Em,

Re: your point about the Skins, I think that's just people thinking the team is better cus of the RG3 factor and trying to make an NFC East team besides the Giants relevant since both the Eagles and Cowboys have flopped this year. However, you mentioned the two worst losses we've had this year, but the Steelers game was more of a fluke than anything; WR's still got open and RG3 still made plays but we had 10 drops. Sure the defense couldn't stop the Steelers but without dropping those gimme passes we're in that game (though I still think we lose). While the defense is terrible, nobody really wants to play them right now because the offense is explosive and gives them a shot to win if the defense shows up even a little bit or the other team has a couple turnovers. Aside from the two games you mentioned, they've been in every single other game with a chance to win at the end. And they've been playing most of the year without Garcon, who is back now and has been a game-changer in the games he's played.

i thought i heard that it increases oxygen and/or blood flow through your system? i'm not sure.

but keep in mind, the nfl never says what drug the player was suspended for. adderall is the substance all the players are claiming to be taking, because the stigma isn't as bad as steroids or HGH.

I'm no expert on the subject either, but for Adderall you need a prescription to use it. Like if you get pulled over and caught with it and you're not prescribed it you're gonna be in some trouble. Likewise if you drug test for a job and this comes up they're gonna want to see the script, etc.

So is it a banned substance all together in the NFL or are these guys just getting busted because they're doing it under the radar?

Someone should really should photoshop the Texans logo emanating from the Batsignal.
It'd be so appropriate.

Look at you.

Still upset.

If you are taking it as a prescribed drug then you have to report it to the NFL.

:lol he may be upset but it's not farfetched seeing that as soon as the Lions fan posted it was back to back to back Texans replies :lol

Browner and Sherman are likely loaded up on roids they just claiming Adderall cause it makes their violations seem less egregious.

The NFL doesn't specify what a PED ban is for so a player can come out and claim it was X even if it was Y and the NFL won't say anything about it.

From how hard Browner hits and Sherman's sudden emergence I'm leaning toward roids personally.

Back to mental toughness, was the point that close games MAKE a team mentally strong or that teams that are mentally strong win close games? I can't keep up with it.

Enough of this 10-1 talk. Until Matty ice wins a playoff game y'all still over rated.

Oh yeah about all that close games=mental toughness...

ESPN Stats & Info @ESPNStatsInfo22h

Falcons are 2nd team in NFL history with 7 wins by 7 or fewer pts during a 10-1/11-0 start. Other? 2006 Colts. (h/t Elias

My reading comprehension and logic skills are bad, but this is making a case that the Falcons are primed to win the Superbowl, correct? Now, how
many people are picking the Falcons?

And I posted a couple pages back (yesterday) but of the current AFC teams that qualify for the playoffs the Ravens and Colts have played 7 games decided
by 7 or less and have gone 6-1. The Pats and Texans have only played 4; Pats 2-2 and Texans 4-0. Broncos 0-2.
So what to make of this, Ravens-Colts AFCCG? No one gave me a straight answer.

Packers lost 6 games by 4 or less in 2010.... Then won the Super Bowl.

Great stat.

That it makes a team mentally strong and helps them going forward and into the playoffs.....except for the cases when it doesn't.

Not even the crazy part. The first two texans fans posted a minute apart and less than five minutes after the Lions fan posted and it was like two in the morning at least on the east coast. That is EMT first responder status right there.

GMSboy1 seems to have a real problem with people talking about mental toughness & work ethic. He must be the final & absolute authority on such matters. I think in his Wii land world, no one's allowed to discuss or pontificate such matters... :D

I think through all the piss & vinegar, he's making a good point (at least I think so). No team is favorite to win the SB right now & the past several winners were no where near a clear favorite...the Lombardi is basically up for grabs to whoever get's on a roll in the playoffs...

Not posting on the WIR threads anymore until S4L3 cleans up his act. He's always trying to start stuff with NTers...No class...

You dudes know what's worst than a clown?

...a lying clown.

I thought I was posting in the NFL season thread...Oh well... Clown huh...That make you feel better I hope? Even added some spacing for dramatic effect. Nice...Cheers.... :D

If it makes you & salty dudes like GMSboy1 feel any better, I won't post in the WIR threads again. I see everyone getting mad in here as always...
