Possibly a pre-pay/pre-order on hats like some of the shirts from a few years back.

Look into the order, design, etc... Then proceed with the pre-order?

This. Preorder sale and then order a couple hundred extra and sell for like $10+ to cover for the surplus
 
This has been asked before. We will get a cap when the time is right.

Asking a billion times won't change a thing.

Given that the retail for a New Era fitted is significantly higher than the average t-shirt price, we couldn't afford to be incredibly bullish and wind up with a bunch of unsold stock.

It's easy to tell someone else, especially with the benefit of hindsight, that they should've taken an even BIGGER gamble on something.

I agree Meth but I think this has changed over the years NT has grown up and guys no longer are eating strugle plates and blowing their entire paychecks in the buy sell and trade liked they used to .Many of us now can afford to drop 30 on a t shirt or hat. Im down to work on this project and meet the criteria that you set out. I understand that you want the hats proceeds to go to a non profit organization so give us a list of them .Many of us can figure out pricing and estimates and quite a few us are involved in the streetwear industry. We are down to play ball if you are sir. Ball is in your court meth.

That store's still up, but we removed the links to it quite awhile ago.  All of the orders are all still being sent to Steez (whose NT screen name is now "Brilliant") and he's been so busy with counterkicks.com that I'm not sure how much time he has to fulfill orders these days.  

Since I can't guarantee quick turnaround times on any orders placed through the store, we removed the links and I wouldn't recommend ordering at this time.  

At some point, I may have him ship the remaining shirts to me, but then I'd be stuck with order processing and that's not really a task I particularly relish, either.  When you're moving dozens of them each day, that trip to the post office is a lot more efficient than when you're shipping out only one order.  Then, it's not really an optimal use of your time.  

Maybe we will try to package them with caps in the future or just use them for giveaways.  You need a certain order volume for the online store to make sense.

We tried that with t-shirts years ago after the first runs didn't sell out and the results were underwhelming to say the least.

Maybe the rise of Kickstarter has helped people get past this, but many couldn't seem to deal with paying for something now that won't be available for months and is subject to various production delays outside our control.  

The minimum order for the caps is like 144, I think.  With the t-shirts, I think we barely managed to get 75 in most models - even the NT Knows shirt.  

Going on Kickstarter itself is a waste since they want a cut in exchange for some illusory peace of mind.

It's just not a solution that's performed well for us in the past.  

All that said, the caps we sold last time worked pretty well for all parties involved.  We sold what we produced.  That amount wasn't overly taxing on Cap City's inventory and they weren't stuck with a glut of unsold products.  

Unfortunately, a few people who wanted caps were unable to get them, but without the possibility of a sell out, there's little impetus to buy quickly - and that was an important part of making this work.  It couldn't be something that the store would have to grapple with for weeks on end. 

When last he and I spoke on the matter Rajah and I discussed the possibility of splitting 250 pieces between two colorways.    The second colorway would help minimize the risk associated with the increased stock.  That's something I was comfortable with, but, regrettably, scheduling didn't allow him to proceed. 

We'll see what happens moving forward, but we need either Cap City or Rajah to get in touch with us as they're in possession of the original design files, etc.  

As fundraising goes, we've found far greater success with digital incentives for the Japan and Somalia campaigns.  I love that so many of you want to showcase your community pride, but as others have mentioned our first priority is to make sure that the community itself is the best it can be and we still have a LOT of work to do in that department.

I think they did a limited run because they had to put their own money up to produce them and they weren't sure how well they would sell. It was a bit of a risk.
 
Yo Meth if the shirts are just sitting there give them away for Christmas.
I'm a size Large by the way.

I don't recommend it only because I can't guarantee a quick turnaround, not because Steez will steal your money.  

I still talk with him every now and then.  He hasn't disappeared; he's just busy.  

If anyone does order I'm sure they'll go out eventually, but it's kind of a pain for Steez and it could be a relatively long wait for you, so that's why we're not pushing it. 
 
What was the final amount raised for charity from the hats? Don't think I ever saw that amount.

im almost certain that if everything was in place, ie: design, manufacturing, distribution and how much would be donated. that meth and staff would take that proposal under serious consideration. so if any of yall boys want to step up, now would be an opportunity get ya shine on. :nerd:

I guess if you only have one cap and wear it out like crazy, but (knock on wood) my NT fitted is still in great shape.
