Def want that NT fitted.  Missed it due to loss of job and no duckets to buy it. I need one badly.  Still got my nt shirts dead stocked.  I would do the lids thing but their policy they can't put logos on blanks.

How about we just get a pack

- 1 Hoodie

- 1 hat

- 1 Shirt

I personally would buy.

Could Kickstarter be used in some fashion for this?

Here's what we need to do lets create a time table to get things done we need to research and get estimates on pricing since we are doing a larger run this time .After we secure estimates and get the design lets get it approved by Meth after we get it approved lets do an official pre order .Somguys won't miss out on their size the. Pre order is only for a month though .Lets try to work on making this a special package the pre order comes with a t shirt and some type of discreet nt lingo key chain that says something like tap tap pull on it .I want to do this release very special anybody who wants to work on this raise pm me .Lets do this in style and make this a dope project for nters.

Meth and crew will have to listen to us if we bring something to the table other than some post .Best way to get change is vote with your dollar and your voice.

this is key. if there is a quality design that can be agreed upon, some one has the ability to get the hats produced (ne hats of course), a secure site to sell them on and a clear detailing of where and how much of the proceeds will be given to a charitable organization. if all these things are there and presented to the folks that make decisions here, im positive they will at the very least take the proposal under consideration. right now we are essentially giving the staff an assignment they didn't request and don't seem to want.

Could Kickstarter be used in some fashion for this?

hmmm...........not a bad idea at all, but simply raising the money is not enough. the whole plan needs to be completed before we even think about funding.

NT fitted, no patch + red brim would be :nthat:, no pun.

A shirt would be nice too...Sorta want a packaged deal :nerd:, Meth?

I copped both the fitted and the royal foambs that night online with zero problem. Never ever had that much luck online again.

found it, its kinda hard to read cuz the quote function was all messed up pre huddler:

That we rely on Rajah for our merchandising doesn't mean that he's the only person in the universe who's capable of creating great designs. He was the lead on this project. He made all of the arrangements and got this thing done from start to finish. I didn't deal with anyone at Cap City myself. There's nobody on my contact list I can get in touch with to say, "hey, let's do another cap." I don't have the original design files, either.

It's easy to say, "well, just call up their store or something and ask to talk to whoever's in charge then. Figure it out. I don't care. Just do it." It's no skin off your back. At the moment, we have more pressing matters to attend to. People are interested in NikeTalk merch because they love NikeTalk. The site is the basis of everything we do here and when it's not performing the way it should be, that takes precedence - and I think 99.9% of our users would agree with that.

Having someone outside the staff handle the design work is one thing, but having someone outside the staff handle all the production and distribution arrangements isn't going to happen. You don't just say, "oh yeah, people want caps so whoever wants to make stuff with our logos go ahead and do it... and, if you can, see if you can raise some money for charity while you're at it." We have to be willing to trust somebody with the integrity of the community, and that's not something any of us should take lightly.

and
I care nothing about your credibility though, you are not my employer nor the person who manages my art account.

You continue to make long winded posts with overexerting rhetoric and little substance. You know NOTHING about design and or making merchandise and you want to tell ME about credibility? Check the diploma from Columbia in graphic design if my online "cred" is a problem. How is it possible that Hardaway33 (an NT member) is able to produce tees and other merch in mass quantities with well executed designs? Yet you all continue to fiddle around on something simple as T-Shirts? NT has been featured in NY Times TWICE, yet you can't make a simple phone call to Cap City? Why not contact Ben Baller I'm sure dude got connects. How many people are on staff? You mean to tell me you can't designate someone to be in charge of NT shirts and hats? Hats are one thing, I understand that can be difficult. But shirts are so easy to produce, you all are just stubborn and want to make things harder than they really are and or don't want to take outside advice.

So much misplaced hostility over a message board's t-shirts... and I thought Yuku had security issues.

Speaking of a "long winded post with overexerting rhetoric and little substance" you just puffed yourself up and went through all of that nonsense just to say the same thing that I already said: that I, personally, don't deal with the merchandise. We did designate someone with professional design experience (and, frankly, I'd put his resume up against yours any day) to be in charge of the merchandising, but he's been MIA lately.

You haven't volunteered for the job. You haven't shared your portfolio. You don't have any meaningful advice to bring to the table other than, "ask somebody who's been successful at selling designs on here and have THEM do it." Solid insight there. In essence, you're just volunteering OTHER people to do the work? I can tell you to run 20 miles right now. It won't make me sweat.

In the past, you've complained about Rajah being the designer - and I think by now the motive there is pretty transparent - but, although you've convinced yourself that you're better qualified than he is, you never took the time to submit anything of your own. If somebody presented me with a great design, why wouldn't I consider it? Rajah and I have talked about doing design contests etc. in the past and that may happen in the future, but, when it comes to execution, what's so difficult to understand about preferring to have someone on staff who's done this work for large, well-known brands handle the legwork? Do you really think there's a long line of similarly qualified - and trustworthy - people willing to do all of this for free? None of the names you've mentioned have volunteered their services for this task. I'm not so egotistical as to think that it's an "honor" to ask someone to do so much work for free - even if the ultimate goal is to benefit charity. All of the people you named have the resources to do their own charitable fundraisers if they wish.

It requires nothing (save, perhaps, gall) to ask someone else to labor on your behalf. That's your contribution to this discussion? Thanks.

As for what I plan to do with MY time, the website itself takes priority. All of this is predicated in the continuing success of the community and the amount raised for charity from merchandising is penny ante in comparison to what the site itself has generated and is capable of generating. We mainly create merchandise because our fellow members enjoy it, not because it's a solid revenue driver for us. The Japan and Somalia fundraisers involved no wasteful physical merchandising and were FAR more successful at raising money for disaster relief efforts using only digital incentives.

Not everyone wants a t-shirt, no matter WHAT the design, but EVERYONE here wants the site to be the best it can be. Even if all you personally care about is merchandising, improvements to the front page etc. would make it infinitely simpler to let people know about product releases, so it doesn't make any sense to put the cart before the horse.

I may type more than the average user, but at least I'm not all talk.
Basically, everything posted above still applies.

I'm glad that a few of you appreciate the apparel items we've produced in the past, but the people who were primarily responsible for the previous products are MIA and we're only willing to create a follow-up under certain conditions.  We want all proceeds above the basic costs of production going to charity, for example, as that was the case with the previous offerings.  These aren't things we can simply accomplish at the drop of a hat... no pun intended.

I think its easier than you're making it out to be... making it seem like its was extremely hard to get those other joints done... CapCity sold em, you did not...

Make more sz 8s damnit lol. The first release, the 8s went by with the quickness.
Wasnt here for the first set, But speaking as a fellow 8sizer..... MOORRREE 8's please and ty

7/8s too, alot of brands are skipping them.

I honestly think large sizes are becoming more popular everywhere because so many more people are growing dreads. I know a few people that had to cop a whole new fitted collection once they grew their hair.

This is the reason why I never bought hats when I had dreads because if/when I cut my hair I would have a bunch of size 8 fitteds I could not wear anymore.

I would definitely cop a NT fitted and a NT shirt :nthat:

even if the hats were restocked there would still be complaining...about the quality or about not being able to get one, the staff here has been working on more important things...

like NT mobile, and to make sure that when maintenance is being performed we are advised of it before hand AND also given an ETA..

this site still serves its main purpose and that is to keep us informed on shoes and then some...yet this is still not enough.

What an interesting thing to say to someone who literally works for free to help make this place run for us to enjoy every day. If Meth says its hard to get done, then its hard to get done. Like he's just being lazy or something or doesn't have this place's best interest in mind. :smh: Also typing that reply is silly as he ACUTALLY has experience in getting a run done. He also said he cant get ahold of Rajah (NTer YoRajah) who spearheaded everything for the first run (him saying that could very well mean he has tried you dont know) and the last bit about "CapCity sold em, you didnt" means Capcity sold and distributed them/provided the labor for free (as a favor to Rajah I'm sure) as Meth said "We want all proceeds above the basic costs of production going to charity" the NT staff aren't about selling out the NT brand (ie ISS) so why do you think we would compromise our stance on the matter so some members can get some more hats?

Also NT fitteds were discusses AGES ago before many in this thread were likely even on here and they did finally came out. Give it some time and I'm sure they will make it happen again somehow. We've moved to a MUCH better platform and recently got a mobile app (which people also begged for AGES for), the staff listen and understand that there is a desire for another hat but you guys can surely undertstand why its on the backburner right now, right?

Oh and coming off rude and insulting to one of the people who you need to help get what you want isnt going to help move things along any faster either I'm sure.

I'd be too embarrassed to wear a niktalk fiited

like it would be mad awkward explaining to people what it stood for

Meh, Ive seen forum site memorabilia around particularly on campus though.

but it doesn't isn't as embarrassing at a cat wearing a Brazzer shirt with some dark *** sunglasses thinking he doing it.

[Edit]

i wrote a response to all the recent updates but just deleted it...

just thought this would have been a really good avenue for fellow NT members to show appreciation ...
and at the same time help the community... which is part of what NT is about...

seemingly, its too much to deal with at this point ... and thats ok...

at least a few of the lil guys were not afraid to ask, challenge and ready... to go against all odds...

Peace.

IT NEVER MADE SENSE TO ME WHY THEY WERE LIMITED IN THE FIRST PLACE.

IF IT WAS TO BE FOR CHARITY, WOULDN'T YOU WANT TO SELL AS MANY AS YOU CAN?

I'M SURE THE CHARITY BENEFITTING WOULDN'T MIND THE EXTRA CASH.

Stores like Cap City have allocation limits to deal with.  While I'm sure they benefited from attached sales (people ordering multiple caps to qualify for free shipping, etc.), they were also doing us a favor and it's not fair or realistic to expect them to devote a ton of time and inventory space to them.  It was always intended to be a quick hit.

Besides, saying "copped x 2" and actually buying a product are two very different things.  With the original NT-Shirt, literally hundreds of people posted for years begging us for them, and we actually produced quite a few of them.  Not only did they remain in stock, we still have them.  We even have some of the limited release anniversary shirts left.

You can say you want something today, but what happens when it's actually available and you have to CHOOSE between it and something else you want?  Suddenly that preference isn't as strong as it seemed in the abstract.

Given that the retail for a New Era fitted is significantly higher than the average t-shirt price, we couldn't afford to be incredibly bullish and wind up with a bunch of unsold stock.

It's easy to tell someone else, especially with the benefit of hindsight, that they should've taken an even BIGGER gamble on something.
