Gov. Snyder signs bill banning direct Tesla sales

Gov. Rick Snyder signed a controversial bill Tuesday that will prevent electric vehicle maker Tesla Motors from selling without a dealership network
Governor Rick Snyder signed bipartisan legislation Tuesday aimed at discouraging Tesla Motors from selling its electric cars directly through company stores.

House Bill 5606, sponsored by state Rep. Aric Nesbitt, also prohibits auto manufacturers from dictating fees franchised dealers can charge customers. The legislation allows individual auto dealers to make the business decision whether to charge the transaction fee.

Snyder said direct sales of new vehicles is already banned in the state. This law will explicitly require all automakers to sell through a network of franchised dealers.

they're not banning the vehicle, just the way TSLA is trying to change the way vehicles are sold. they'd be doing the same thing if it was a gas car. these states just want to keep the middle man employed.

Big Oil behind this.  This is probably unconstitutional to directly target a business...but I dont know. Just know this not right.

The government hates Telsa for even damn near perfecting electronic cars.

Oil companies and pharmecutical companies run government. Thats why we will ALWAYS
rely on gas and people will ALWAYS have cancer.

^^^ I didnt write that, my NT was hacked. I do not share those thoughts and opinions, just so you Feds monitoring the web know.

There's too much strong money in TSLA. They're not going anywhere. As long as Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan & Chase and State Street are shareholders, the government won't mess with them (aside from breaking balls like they are here to keep the middle man).

Tesla is here to stay unless they shoot themselves in the foot with some kind of serious issues on all vehicles they made that could ruin them. i plan to own one in the future.

they are the future IMO

I would agree but it depends on who you are referring to as "government". If mean feds, I disagree, If mean state governments then we are on the same page. Even then its the big money dealers in these states that are forcing the hand of the state governments.
