Off topic:

I'd like to know what the true definition of "finna" is. When my fiancée was working with the State Attorney a few years back, they ran into a case where finna was used completely differently 4 or 5 times. I thought it meant " going to " which was the general consensus when google'ing the term, however she informed me that it wasn't just used to replace "going to" and that's what confused her and the DA. Thoughts?

I've never heard it used any other way, myself. Did she not give examples?

I'm locked up, for the second time. it's best to start from a really small fro instead of starting them when your hairs already long. **** them natural twists too, I had those the first time I tried to lock. stained my pillowcase :smh:

May seem like a small discrepancy but when on trial for 1st degree murder; it is important to know if you–1) tried to get a gun, 2) had a gun, 3) knew someone who could procure you a deadly weapon, 4) wished you had a gun, or 5) SH*T, the gun might not even be referring to a "gun" ...

Ricky you're in the south so all of the stuff these dudes are saying
is irrelevant. all these styles are acceptable everywhere i roam "allen iverson braids" and all :lol: *shrugs*
having the line up is just a matter of how they started your dreads, me personally, I be feelin :pimp: when the line up is on point. either way, i'll leave you with these styles you'll be able to do if/when they get long.

Of course you are supposed to have a line up but I was just saying your baby hair is similar to Omarion.  Its more than usually.

Anyways, I got an afro with a taper/temp fade and I lowkey want to twist in a few months

I think Im going to cut them all off this weekend. Its time for a change, they begin to define your life once they really get long. You have to change your sleep patterns, decide when you're going to wash it, if you have time to dry it. I've been lurking on NT for about 2 years, but this post alone is the main reason I created an account. I've been growing my locs since Dec. 7, 2006(the day before my graduation as an undergrad). I am also in the final days of having my locs. Like N3RD said the longer your hair gets the more it begins to define and shape your life. For me personally, I've grown so attached to my hair that in the past the thought of cutting them joints was clearly out of the picture, but being that I work on the business side of pro sports, I understand the limitations that my hair creates for myself rather than my opportunities(part of the reason why I grew them in the first place). It's little things that you being to realize that you have to be more conscious of the longer your hair gets, and it begins to become a hassle after a while. In regards to the workplace difficulties, I can't say that it has limited my opportunities, but I do feel as though I have put in that extra effort through my work ethic to make sure that my hair is not a hinderance to my progression. It's really all about the quality skills and knowledge you bring to the table, in my opinion. But at the end of the day, for me, it's time for a change. 

Word of advice for all who want to grow locs. Just make sure you a dedicated to the process because as crazy as it may sound you WILL become attached to your hair. Don't just do it for a fad or anything like that, do it as something that creates a personal meaning to your life.

it's cool, I think 4 out of 5 people would guess I'm white too :lol: my frequent usage of _ is cancelled out by my love for indie music and tryptamines.

"I had just finna ate my dinner" :lol: :lol:

I always explain finna as "about to".
 
Clean line up is cool... I just don't want my stuff half way back on my head...

I'm gonna tell the barber "just the line up... No fade...

and just rock with that...

no pole jock... But wale STAY with some dope dread styles...

ever since the homey got put on and his hair "grew"... He stay having some clean ideas..

that one GIF of him with the "wait what?" look at the bet awards...

looked like he had some braided back, with the rest hanging...
