Your Next Vacation Destination.....?

I really need to start traveling. Only place i've been to outside of Texas was New York back in 2011. Been wanting to visit Toronto.

Any Portland Oregon peeps in here? Or people who've been there? Trying to finally go for my bday in April.

I've been a few times, and will probably visit a few more times cause I got family there.

I'd definitely suggest going when it's warmer so April-September. People from Portland are always raving about how awesome summer is there, and it's pretty nice because everyone's out and about, it's easy to camp out if you're into doing outdoor activities (got the coast like 2 hours away from PDX, a few lakes here and there, a lot of good hikes and there's the Gorge), and it's not all gray when you're chilling outside. That being said, if you don't care about the weather and outdoors, there's a ton of beer (craft breweries, bottle shops) in Oregon, there are mad dispensaries popping up for smoking, the food scene is good (hipster urban fusion cuisine/fine dining to legitimate immigrant mom and pop restaurants/burger/sandwiches).

When you fly into PDX, you can take a train from the airport into downtown and Uber/Lyft around. The city is split into different regions (Northeast, Northwest, etc...) and is set up in a grid system, so it's pretty intuitive. The bike scene is pretty healthy with a lot of urban riders.

One thing I noticed is that there's a distinct lack of diversity, it's a pretty homogenous Caucasian population in most parts of town. You might spot a few people of color here or there, but it's definitely not diverse like most metropolitan areas. I noticed that the minority population lives past 82nd street in Southeast Portland, and that's also where most of the good ethnic food is too. I hear economics and past housing policies had a big part to play in the city's demographics.

I lived in NYC this summer so that was ill.

I'm hitting Miami for the first time in dec for art Basel.

Shooting for Germany ,Italy and Egypt in May or June post graduation.

I do Atlantic City monthly, Harry's is always my first pit stop for lunch the second our bus reaches the boardwalk.

Good, affordable food. Known for seafood but quality wings, wraps, and burgers as well.

Also highly recommend Tony's Baltimore Grill, just off the boardwalk. Clutch late-night pizza that's made-to-order. $4 beers, just an old-school dive.

Got rid of their weekday afternoon poker tourneys, unfortunately. Still run the 7 PM, but compromises the night with timing.

Wild West is clutch for the pre-game (cheap drinks), but I prefer using comps at Harrah's Water Tower for the pool party Wednesdays, and even like Caesars' rooms better.

Tentative 2016 schedule: London, Boston, Costa Rica & San Diego

Did Boston for a Yankee game and weekend this summer and it was incredible. Ate Chowder with every meal  Had a wild first night where I had to burn my a rod shirt.

Hard Rock at Punta Cana, DR:

This was my second trip this summer. This place was paradise. Everything was perfect and I need to go back. Met my dominican mami too who I would've married if it weren't binding in the US too. semi srs. Mostly srs.

i go there for straight gambling and maybe food/chilling, I don't drink. I might start checking out the other casinos cuz the only two I went to so far are ballys and caesars, so I could use my total rewards. The bus usually ends up dropping me off at ballys anyways

Beautiful women throughout the pools and casino. Favorite restaurant was Zen. All-inclusive is a gem, would hit the pizza place or 24/7 room service for late-night grub. Paella at Isla was phenomenal.

Only did two excursions: Horseback riding and faux ATVs. Rented cabana, you get it poolside or by the beach for 9 hours. Personalized server and ceviche for lunch.

Spa was excellent. Got a massage literally every day. Aromatherapy, hot candle, Taino, deep tissue. Hydrotherapy is lit.

Can't you accumulate/use TR Rewards at Harrah's, since it's under the same parent company as Bally's/Caesars.

I'm guessing you take the same bus as me from the Port, which offers $25 slots credit.

Borgata is worth checking out, more upscale.

What you play?

?

Yeah not hard at all to find some good looking women. I liked los gallos the best. So much we went twice bc we didn't wanna risk not enjoying Isla for the last night. Ordered quesadillas and chicken fingers every night at 4/5 for late night eats. Really didn't take advantage of all the amenities like we should have honestly.

Was gonna go scuba diving the last day. The guy even offered my friend and I 2 for the price of one ($95 each) but my friend got too drunk the night before and didn't budge in the morning lol. I had more than enough for just drinking and being in the pool/ocean all day. Love the rough waters there even though it was still a little cold in June.

Next time I will definitely be diving, hit the spa once or twice early, and hit up Isla bc it was the one restaraunt I missed.

yup same bus from 42nd street. I think Harrah's also does have the same total rewards but I haven't been their yet. Also haven't checked the borgata either. Heard it was upscale too. I tend to play blackjack or ultimate texas hold em against the dealer. Also play other variations of poker such as three card poker etc. How about you?
